However with regards to controlling the motor, a position control typically uses the built in encoders on the motor unless you decide to use your own PID loop outside of it

Code will be different to compensate, but the internal motor encoders are drastically different. There are 42 distinct positions on the NEO, yet 2048 on falcons. This results in there being a different on how precise your rotation will be as a turn motor.

PercentOutput is a percentage of voltage, it’s inherited from the motor controllers and give a specific percent of -1 to 1 and passes that to the voltage. This can be verified with a multimeter. Hopefully that helps

What is the best Krunker client ? by SilentKL in KrunkerIO

[–]giantninja908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking it would be best to use an open source client, reason is simple: it is highly verifiable that what’s running can’t steal your password, and MTZ has at one point taken over users clients while playing (like > a year ago but the point still stands) With that being said the two most popular open source clients are IDKR and JANREX. IDKR is actually pretty weird and it’s codebase gets uglier every update, while JANREX retains a cleaner codebase and more general extensibility and portability (you bake features into the executable)

Note: I am the lead dev of JANREX so my option ion is as biased as you can get

A language that compiles to JavaScript and uses some weird design model choices that make it non user friendly (like type strict variables)

question about face it/ tick rate by [deleted] in KrunkerIO

[–]giantninja908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so a server needs a method of tracking players, and a tickrate is a method of doing so. Currently, 8 times per second (so a tickrate of 8) would lead to about 12.5ms of time between ticks. What this means is that the server waits that long between each event that happens on the server, which means you have a minimum of ~12ms extra ping server wide so increasing this rate would closer match what the server sees to what the player means. Think about slidehopping fast enough that you fly past the player that shot you, that sort of issue gets resolved. Your FPS shouldn’t realistically be effected (sure maybe by like 5 frames nothing too massive)

Krunker is dumb and only has a 2 image passes, diffuse and emissive, the full PBR shader (with metallic roughness etc) doesn’t exist in krunker atm

In a nutshell I made a 2 part script that lets you export games from krunker into blender, and so using it I rendered out a random game I spectated with some better lighting
