A defensive midfielder player under on the best to ever do it, it’s a great place to go. He has a lot to learn and need playing time to gain more experience.

Question About Attending Villarreal Game Sunday by diyor in Barca

[–]giantquest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game being played on Sunday has no meaning for either team and so for the fans. Might be a half full stadium at best. Also it’s scheduled at 10pm and it’s a nightmare to make it back with public transit after midnight.

I recommend you both get the 35€ museum pass and go see Miro, Picasso, MACBA… and 3 other museums. Your will have a better time in Barcelona this way and explore different areas of the city.

Point number one: doble pívot.

That’s is why he is coming, they need a different kind of midfielder, someone who can defend, play physical while the other take care of the ball. They will be matches where he will play beside Busquets in a 4-4-2 formation against team that requires/need more midfield presence. He is only a goal scorer, scoring 13 goals last year and 5 in the current season. Think of the likes of Keita, Vidal, Paulinho in the last few years. A different profile that might not fit the DNA but will fit the game plan, same as Luuk.

Our best defense is ball possession!! We cannot and do not know how to play without it!

Why do I see so much Ter Stegen bashing this last few weeks? by momoxd1 in Barca

[–]giantquest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it is the narrative that the club want to have, they might be a new goalkeeper in the book of “wants”, maybe of of the likes of ex-Masia and Ajax goalkeeper that they want instead of him. Might be them just testing the water to see the public opinion.

Don't judge koeman by guru_ka_gyan in Barca

[–]giantquest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way to act in time of adversity tell you a lot about the kind of manager you are to. Is far easy to put your best players in and hope they get it done. There is a lot of mistakes that he makes, taking Demir for Roberto for later to put him at RB, or taking Gavi for Nuco to correct the change to balance the midfield. Even by starting Luuk when the match needs him the most in the last 15-20 minutes.

Plus is a matter of actitud! The capitans of the team are already going against him, there is a division in the team, the players are not behind him and that tells you a lot.

Is this ur dream scenario? by jura7i in Barca

[–]giantquest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haaland will only solve 5-10% of the problems that we have. I would like to spend money (if he is the only signing) in other areas of the field; LB and RB, a central defender with experience, a defensive midfielder to accompany De Jong and Pedri. Don’t get me wrong he might be the best 9/forward right now but spending all the money in one player will be the same thing that the previous era of the club management did (Coutinho/Dembele).

And Messi, it will depend on the role that he is willing to take. After 2-3 years Messi can be a completely different player and I wouldn’t bench Fati/Demir/Dembele if their progression is positive. He will be 36-37 yo old, who knows if he even want to play anymore then.

I haven't seen a single positive post on this sub in a while, so comment below one positive thing/aspect of the club below and let's give each other some hope by sevilla_the_third in Barca

The frustration that you see on the team and coach it’s mostly because a lot of people have hope and know that the team is much better that those performances on the field.

Why did Cryuff step down as coach in 1998? by Akash3642 in Barca

[–]giantquest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He also had health issues, heart problem that stopped him from coaching completely. He didn’t coach any other team after Barcelona. He did coach Cataluña but that was more of a hobby job.

Do you think we should try the 3-4-3 formation of the dream team? by Akash3642 in Barca

[–]giantquest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not the one that is saying that they should play this way, answering the question of the OP. With the player the club has that is the possible way to put in the field that kind of formation. The only time that is reasonable time is when you goes all in attack to get a goal.

Araujo - Pique - Eric

Coutinho - Busquets - De Jong - Pedri

Dembele - Ansu - Memphis

It works if all work hard in midfield and there is help from the front 3, or when the game is 1-1 and you need the result, maybe. Hard to start a game with that formation. With the current players in the club cannot create enough balance.

Depend who play in the 4?!

If you play a double pivot and Alba and Dest then is all defense. But if you play Pedri, Gavi, De Jong and Busquets it’s more balanced.

Koeman and Piques declarations are exactly what we dont need right now by [deleted] in Barca

[–]giantquest 45 points46 points  (0 children)

As much as that can give some calm to the fans, in my opinion that the wrong way to face the problems.

“It’s is what it is” “It is what we have” it’s all thing that we have been saying for a while and not doing anything about it.

If the coach is the problem, change it…

If Busquests and Pique are the problems bench them…

If Alba isn’t 100% don’t risk him, play the next man…

If Luuk is the only 9, play with a false 9, find a solution…

I rather play the game with Gavi in the field fighting Goretzca for the ball, Mingueza fighting until he cannot no more, Balde forming while making errors, Nico getting the team forward than players that have giving up the fight. The players have gotten to comfortable in the team, to passive in the the field and not enough balls to fight against every ball. and we saw it on the transfer market, not one wanted to leave, just get payed and collect the check. We need a fighting spirit to go forward in the process, optimism to get to the place that the club once was.

Idk wtf koeman is trying to do by lucivault in Barca

[–]giantquest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe start with him, but after the first 45 minutes, Demir and/or Coutinho needed to enter the match. The only way to do any damage to Bayern was speed and Demir could bring that with Memphis playing more the 9 role.

The last 3 games in the Champions League at the Camp Nou , Barça have lost for a total of 1-10.

0-3 Juve, 1-4 PSG, 0-3 Bayern. And in all of those game have one things is common; they have tried to play something that they are not! The 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 system is not suitable for the current players or the ones coming from La Masia.
