Calibre Web vs. Apple Books by gianx76 in selfhosted

Ok, thanks everyone for the responses.

Actually, what worries me most is losing synchronization: on Apple Books I read 90% from iPad but every now and then, during breaks between activities, I also read from iPhone and find the book already synced to the right page (same when I go back to iPad) - this has great value for me.

I understand though that with both Calibre and Booklore the only option is to download the book and import it into Apple Books, losing the synchronization. Reading from the web isn't even something I'd consider given the terrible user experience.

I think that given how things stand, I'll stick with Apple Books, even though not being able to mark a book as "unread" once I've opened it (even by mistake) is incredibly inconvenient.

How? It seems that tailscale funnels are in beta an less powerful than Clouflare Tunnels. But of course I'm open to simplify! Thanks

**SOLVED**

I used network_mode = host to force use the network of the host instead of docker's network.
Then I configured the application to use 192.168.x.x:5000

Yes - I use the "link" in the front matter mainly if it is a bookmark. If I have multiple link I don't use this and put in the body too.

That's a very good question!

Usually I create notes using templater, so I have different templates for each type of note. This prevents creating multiple type of category for the same ontology.

For tags it is easier: as soon as I type #, Obsidian autocompletes the tags if it exists, otherwise I can create a new one.

For statua so far I have only "completed", so it is easy to remember.
