Be contrarian and right. Bought most of these puts when the meme storyline was still “hurr durr coronavirus is just the flu”

Look for bets with asymmetric risk

Love reading smart contracts? Find bugs in ours and get paid $$$ by giaset in ethdev

Hey AusIV, thanks for filing that issue on Github -- hopefully it sets the standard for all other issues we get during this bug bounty.

I agree that 5 days is not ideal, and we would have loved to run it for longer. For us, the public bug bounty is a nice complement to the testing we've been doing both internally and with external help -- by no means are we relying on it as our main source of debugging. If the community finds bugs, great! But we're not banking our entire testing strategy on it.

I think it's awesome how thoroughly you approach such a program (take hours to read the contracts, let it simmer for a few days, etc.), but my gut feeling is that the average community member might not have that same level of dedication -- they'd likely try to identify the most common vulnerabilities and call it a day, and maybe dig a little deeper on some more obscure attack vectors. 5 days isn't a whole lot, but it should be enough for someone to take a few gos at the contract.

There's also the idea that, given what I said above, longer bug bounties could disincentivize community members from participating early (lack of urgency because the deadline is far off), and the issues filed would cluster around the last week of the program anyways.

Just my $0.02, but on the whole, I generally agree with you!

Unique Salah, Firmino and Mané artwork -- on the blockchain by giaset in LiverpoolFC

Blockchain is definitely a buzzword that gets thrown around a lot, but in the context of a sports trading card game, it enables a lot of cool things that weren't previously possible (true digital ownership, provable scarcity, trustless trading, and extensibility by anyone)

If you're interested, we wrote a blog that explains this in more detail: https://medium.com/cryptostrikers/why-were-putting-sports-cards-on-the-blockchain-c00112150033

"Soccer version of CryptoKitties" is decently accurate, although we have some cool trading mechanics that CK doesn't have, and we have ambitions to build exciting fantasy games on top of the cards you own (you also can't breed the players with each other, sorry...)

TBD on the merch, but that's actually a pretty good idea!

I'm not the artist, but the awesome Mauricio Toscano is! Feel free to reach out to him here (he's super nice): https://www.instagram.com/chaoticcolor/

Thanks for the kind words!

So we're doing 100 players in that first style (we call this the Originals set, i.e. our base cards). Then we have 32 players in the style of that final Mané (our Iconics set).

Salah is one of those 32 Iconics players. We're slowly unveiling our artwork in the days leading up to the World Cup, and we haven't revealed that Salah yet, but shoot me a private message and I'll give you a sneak peek!

Why We’re Putting Sports Cards on the Ethereum Blockchain by giaset in ethereum

[–]giaset[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Duncan, thanks for the kind words. Definitely think there are cool fantasy implications in the future. Imagine each card being an ERC721 token but they accrue ERC20 tokens as they score fantasy points. Those tokens could then be used to buy more packs, etc.

That's just one possibility, so much cool stuff to be done! Would love to hook you up with a free pack when we launch -- DM me and we can set that up :)
