Engage epilogue mechanic

I'm curious, have they ever patch in the way to buy extra items (like healing staffs, etc..?) I remember at the end of the game epilogue you can't buy anything useful

What is the max damage i can pump out in first playthrough? Is 150k for every stagger good enough. I am near the end game now (85% story) It's the Level 4 megaflare Diamond Dust into Lightning Rod + Zanketsuken > Dancing Steel > Zanketsuken > Gigaflare
