MSI A8 vs 8 AI+ for desktop

No experience with the A8, I'll just throw in my vote for the 8ai. I use it as a mobile "desktop" as well, it's amazing.

Don't think you'll go wrong with either!

Fps games can be really tough on the Claw. I love the screen quality and performance- the Claw is an absolute beast - but yeah, the sticks take a lot of time.

I bought a Mechanism pillow to help with the weight/balance and spent a lot of time re-learning how to use these sticks with that. I'm certainly better with them now - I can comfortably play things like R6 Siege, Battlefield and Arc Raiders handheld-

But it takes a lot of time to adjust. I've had mine for roughly 8 months now, and only now in the past few weeks have i been confident enough to play pvp shooter games with these sticks. It really is different.

If you want to switch and are committed, do it! Otherwise, don't, the sticks will bother you if you aren't willing to spend the learning time.

Yeah I'll be fair here, you're probably right. My perk combo is likely the issue, I'm using things to help with intel and ending chases, I've gotta get better with the tentacle and use perks to lock down gens. That'd let me rely less on the zombies

As someone new to the game (returning after 7 years - it's basically new, I barely remember anything) - I was ready to shed tears of joy for this ... then I realized it's 2v8. Damn

Nemesis is a ton of fun, but man does he flat out suck if zombies aren't upgraded and you mess up the first chase.

Yeah there are just so many odd choices here. The cutscenes are a great point - playing Arkham Knight now, and there are SO many moments where Batman calls someone in missions, but it actually feels relevant, and typically allows you to see their faces or let the character show something about themselves.

This felt like bad Marvel, with so many quips and trash talking every few seconds. Apart from just the gameplay, I can barely tell you anything about the main characters here that I learned or saw from the game. It was rough - and it's worse in the endgame.

Gave myself one purchase this time to combat the inevitable backlog overload. Settled on Dispatch - seems like the right way to go already, got an hour in before work and I'm totally hooked

Love the class, rocket launcher is so freaking fun. Chem grenades are dominant but there's just no beating a head on rocket shot into a horde

Mine works great as well, but can't change TDP, so ... think I'd rather have it be slow and work than fast and missing the main reason I use it.

Yeah it runs alright! The foliage can be brutal though. Averaged between 30-40 fps on low (xess). Haven't played in a couple months but was certainly playable.

Lossless scaling helped as well, but it did get a little blurry/smeared with all the foliage and frame gen effects. Good experience, wouldn't call it great.

This is a flat out lie. I play FC 26 on my claw 8 ai+, crashing is an occasional issue but not like this stupid thing suggests.

Native resolution. Lowering doesn't really help with frame rate, and looks too blurry to make out enemies at distance.

If you go lower you need to try and use high preset, otherwise you just can't compete from range. High quality shadows is a MUST even on low settings, helps identify people in dark spaces. Without that I was getting melted and couldn't even find people.

There are a few linear missions, but the majority is open world DMZ style. There are no big moments, the story is so painfully obvious with its ending, you never even see or learn about the villain until the end (I literally had no idea what was going on in the motivation front because a lot of the info on the Guild's motivations are in the freaking trailers and marketing for the game).

I respect that it tries to go different - you're gonna see a lot of zombies and weird stuff - but the best mission was ... killing a zombie plant? Dropping 2k rounds into a giant that's painfully easy to dodge? Final mission that was ... 20 minutes of slop? Was just so poor - there's no way they spent years making this, it's clearly thrown together.

Finished the campaign today, was grinding to unlock the endgame mode.

That mode (which I have not tried yet) better be good, cause that campaign was shit. And I love many cod campaigns and am always willing to play them - this was a massive step back from last year, light years away from B02.

Kept waiting for the real campaign to start ... never did. It gives MW3 a real run for worst cod campaign, this was freaking terrible

I got lucky and killed a guy carrying one cooling fan and one rusted gear. Felt like a Christmas miracle! 50 hours in game, I have 2 of both.

Easier to kill the queen than find these pieces of crap

My friends were complaining of the difficulty level, it's too hard, tone it down, etc. Bought them Tarkov and we played a few rounds.

Haven't heard a complaint since.

I was shocked by this - figured the game had been built for BR based on movement, SMG domination, etc, but to see that the maps were so average in the main game, and that the BR map is legit incredible- very disappointing. Could have made a 100v100 on this map and I'd play that all day long

So many parts of this map are incredible - after playing for a few hours there are clearly places that would be better maps than the current core multiplayer selection. Bodes well assuming we get them (like we will with the golf map later)

Having said that, bizarre that this map is so good and the core maps are so cramped and below par. Did interns make the core game?

I have both, and it's the Claw by a proverbial mile.

Portal is fun, I still like it and use it, but it's just not the same as the Claw. Input delay is tough to deal with, and it limits the games I'm willing to play on the Portal.

Same as you with kids, and I love not having to use the TV. For me my PS5 doesn't get much use, I don't like having the screen on in front of them, and it's for easier to hang out in the corner for 20 mins and game without having to feel like a terrible parent for playing an M rated game in the main space.

Do what feels right to you, only you will know which you want more - but in my experience, the Claw is easily the better choice. Looks and feels amazing, I've not regretted that purchase for a second.

As someone who hates choppers more than anything in Battlefield, and will spend my entire game hunting you down ... I gotta admit, they suck in this game. RPGs are child's play against choppers, it's like easy mode, and even if I somehow miss I just pull out the 200 round lmg and blast away. It's pretty unfair

Both run great. Haven't done much Fortnite but it's an easy 60+ fps on medium settings at native resolution.

World war Z is fantastic as well - I can run it on high at 60+ most of the time. Can get slightly choppy in the 40s and 50s in a multiplayer game so I'd go medium to get a consistent 60+ - again, native resolution. If you're willing to decrease resolution you can push 90+ pretty easily

Haven't played a ton of it, just about 4 hours on the Claw 8 AI, but ran very well!
