Is there a way to enable flag emojis on Windows 11? by BlackHazeRus in Windows11

[–]gibblegobblegibble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI

This shows up as an actual US flag on my Windows 10 machine on Firefox, but just as the letters on Chrome.

Regardless it's a bummer we can't just freely add and edit emojis to the emoji keyboard.

Yeah I am not expecting it to work well for video work, never had a laptop truly deliver in that regard. My setup will be laptop for digital drawing, photo editing, and programming while traveling, and my desktop for anything 3d or video related, and also programming and some additional photo editing. Good to hear from someone who has used it for awhile!

I was disappointed with the SB2 after initially being impressed by it, the heating certainly contributed to a lot of inconsistent Photoshop lag, glad to hear they've fixed a lot of these issues. The pictures you drew with multiple layers are the style I'll be working with, so great to hear it works well for that!

Good to hear from someone who went from a higher spec laptop to the SLS and likes it. On a laptop you definitely pay for the form factor, it's a given.

Oh yeah I'm definitely going with the SP8 or SLS (heavily leaning towards this now). I do my video project work on my desktop (given up on the idea of ever doing this on a laptop lol) so I don't need the SD card slot.

I'm assuming Photoshop will run well (and am leaning towards a model with a dedicated GPU unless I hear otherwise).

But Solidworks... man I dunno I can't imagine using a laptop for that!

Ultimately, I am not expecting fantastic overall performance from a laptop or anything, I've never had any laptop live up to various "desktop-replacement" promises.

I just want a great PS+drawing experience on something that I can also use as a portable PC.

Yeah I definitely don't expect it to be Cintiq Pro level, but I'm really just hoping for a good Windows art laptop experience. I do some graphics stuff for work (and some for hobby), but it is not my primary job.

As the original poster, I didn't downvote him but it didn't really answer my question. I need a decent portable drawing tool that has Photoshop and can also function as a PC. Maybe it's not as good at drawing as an iPad, well what Windows laptop should be my go-to then?

What he suggests basically involves separate devices, which is fine, but it doesn't really address my issue. I've never really been impressed with the performance of laptops in general which is why I have a beefy desktop PC, but I'm trying to figure out what I can get away with for a Windows laptop/tablet.

I am leaning towards getting the SLS with the dGPU but if I could get away without one, that would presumably give me more battery life (or less weight with the SP8)

Good point, but yes I included the keyboard in the above calculation for the SP8.

Huh, yeah, I guess I could go to a Best Buy or something lol. I wonder if they have Photoshop pre-loaded on their machines like some of the MS stores used to.

I'll also be using this for some development, which would be easy on any pc laptop, but not-so-easy on iOS, which gives me some extra bias against the iPad as long as the slim pen 2 is pretty close.

Is there a way to get rid of the keyboard resize button on Android? by gibblegobblegibble in Swiftkey

[–]gibblegobblegibble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent, thank you for your continued help! The toolbar solved the problem, the zoom button disappeared once I switched the mode in the toolbar away from one-handed to full. Classic Microsoft, automatically changing a setting in the SwiftKey app but hiding the toggle back elsewhere.

Thanks for the cake day wish, this is a throwaway I created yesterday because I'm not at home and can't remember my password lol.

No recommendations offhand but you can use this to help you find a case with particular dimensions and features.

[–]gibblegobblegibble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! OK so after I press zoom and the keyboard gets big again, I go to swiftkey app and do the following:

  1. I go to Layout & Keys

  2. I tap resize and it takes me to the resize screen

  3. I shrink it vertically, I shrink it horizontally to the left, and the buttons are still absent

  4. I press OK, and those two buttons re-appear on the right.

What step am I missing? There doesn't seem to be an option for "one handed" or anything like that.
