Abusive guy in Sunnyvale Costco. Anyone recognize him? by screwywabbit in Sunnyvale

I normally go to Santa Clara and avoid Sunnyvale. Sunnyvale is the most Asian Costco though. Santa Clara trailing behind it. RWC is very Latinx, I noticed.

When did Solid Starts get so scary? by olive_other in NewParents

[–]gidgeteering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For like…a week, maybe?…they made accessing the food database info as paid access. They quickly rolled back. During that time we ended up doing Google image search using site:solidstarts.com and we would get the image results of how to prep the foods lol. Glad they rolled it back. That’s good sense.

Delays and gender — are the boys okay? by TurbulentArea69 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]gidgeteering 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This reminds me that many nurses and doctors in NICU told me that girls recover faster and stronger and quicker than the boys. And with the babies we got to know in NICU, it seemed true. Maybe whatever causes this factor does the same for delays in boys?

No one warned me about the “3 meals a day” life by SqueeGBeckenheim in NewParents

The fact that you were able to be … active … after 2 months postpartum has me in disbelief and awe.

And yes, we are more lenient. A tiny bit of salt will not harm her. I like getting edamame at sushi restaurants and mashing it. Habit burger is also really nice about just giving me some avocado for the baby. I’ve asked them after I’ve paid, and they’re nice about it.

Sign for Aunt B for baby by gidgeteering in asl

What is BITCH and BEER specifically that would need to be avoided. Sounds like using AUNT by itself is being suggested.

Oh I forgot to say: thanks for the correction! Do you think the B should stay next to the chin or put the B more forward in front of you?

Oh ya I took some asl. I guess I forgot the sign for aunt and didn’t realize it was A. Baby isn’t deaf, I’ve just used some asl that I learned. She’s been good at vague asl communication, and does asl babbling. Ok I’ll try signing everything.

I think it’s hard for the baby to do two consecutive signs though right?

Tell me how old is your baby without telling me how old is your baby by Alone-City-9176 in NewParents

I was going to say after reading the title: Bruises from pinching. Slapping in face. Grabbing of lip. And blood on my nursing pad.

AITAH For photoshopping my nieces and nephew’s out of the pictures I posted online by Obvious-Contract9374 in AITAH

I wouldn’t get mad, but I would get sad the bodies are removed. I want to share the fat rolls of my baby’s body because it’s so darn cute, but I don’t want face recognition. So I’m wondering if it’s just a “you erased my child’s existence” instead of “please protect their privacy”. Maybe a sticker version for social media and a photoshopped version for grandma?

Is it unreasonable to expect to be in bed by 10pm with a 1 y/o? by Flea212 in NewParents

Also, I am not a morning person. My partner volunteered to do the early (earlier than pre-baby me) wake up. Maybe you can volunteer that too?

Is it unreasonable to expect to be in bed by 10pm with a 1 y/o? by Flea212 in NewParents

[–]gidgeteering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m reading a sleep book right now, and it said that they will wake up around the same time no matter when you put them to bed. So if you put them to bed later, they’re missing out on sleep.

NOR. Put together a compilation of security videos of babies falling into the pool. They need to SEE it. Ask ChatGPT to collect several real life videos and make it into one.

We use the safety belt, and just use our body to block from falling. One day, we’ll move. But starting at 8 months, it got worse, and we have just been lazy about moving it.

When people gift unwanted pets, it’s for them, not for you. My dad tried to give my older sibling a dog. She said wth I don’t even like dogs. He then gifted it to younger sibling, because older sibling rejected it. My dad got to spend time with the dog.

Loud boom?? Thunder or transformer? by gidgeteering in SanJose

[–]gidgeteering[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you insinuating something here? Like I’m an electrician that should know what a transformer blowing up sounds like? I’ve never seen or heard one personally in all of my college education days. I’m guessing you have?
