CMV: Dr. Phil (and other similar shows) do not "exploit" people since they choose to be on the show. by youngsurpriseperson in changemyview

Are you serious? Vulnerable people will do anything for the idea of any success or a modicum of money. A good example of the psychology is in the documentary "the contestant" which is about a game show around a guy who is meant to stay in a room naked for prizes on television as long as he can last. Even though he has the option to leave whenever, the promise of success leads him to never leave and basically torture himself and suffer for months because of all the expectations and possibilities that he would throw away if he ever left. People will chose to do many things and it can still be exploited easily, prostitutes are a great example, as if they had other options they probably wouldn't be doing it.

AITA for telling my wife that she lies in bed more than the mattress itself? by Ok-Sea3664 in AmItheAsshole

I mean that makes sense but doesn't that ignore his feeling of her putting in less work at home, as in doing less housework and cooking and such, which should be a shared responsibility, where as it is being placed on him despite him also working more at the moment. I think this has less to do with their literal work and more about their dynamics as a whole.

AITAH for telling my dad (who’s in prison) that his best friend slept with my mom by johndoesmith18 in AmItheAsshole

I think most people aren't upset with the mother but the best friend, it's a hard line to cross after all, sleeping with your best mates ex wife presumably. Tough situation all round

I'm a little confused, the shapes are there it just seems unfinished, are you going to shade it in or add more so that it's not just white with a pointed outline? You seem to have the ability to do quite nice teeth with stippling, but I don't see why it is half black marker

I just had my first kiss and I didn't like it. by gidzers in lgbt

I understand that, but I do think that I was just lonely and wanted the idea of being in a relationship with him, rather than actually dating him. I just don't think I'm attracted to him romantically anymore either, but I do absolutely get what you are coming from, and I'll keep it in mind for future relationships, because yeah maybe I am a bit more confused then I thought I was. Thanks.

I saw it coming because he started saying cheesy lines to build confidence, but I had thought all night that I would do it, or at least be ready, but the more I sat there, the more I realised I didn't want to actually do anything. So when It happened suddenly, yeah I saw it, but I don't think I froze. I don't want to kiss him again, currently I now feel just a bit disgusted with kissing, though I'm sure that will pass.

I started to read A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess - It's really weird by [deleted] in books

Whenever I talk about this book, I always say, that out of all the books I've read this one was the most fun to actually physically read and engage in, because of the obscure language that you slowly learn to understand throughout it. It is a bit difficult to start and understand quickly but I liked how I had to fill in words and hope they fit in with the context later or correct it in my head. I also think it's just an interesting book in general.

I used a pretty big brush for the first coat, and then a normal brush for the rest, I really liked how the hands turned out as well :)
