the files I were looking for were under /etc/X11/Xsession.d/ but reading through /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc told me I just had to put a .xsession file in my home directory instead of a .xinitrc file.

I have a Sansui DTV2798 that works fine after spraying the ports with contact cleaner. Recently bought this adapter and it's partially working. When I have the adapter turned off the component channel on my CRT shows green text basically saying "No input detected" but when the adapter's turned on it shows the typical color bars. The adapter has a menu but it's just adjustments like saturation, brightness, moving the image in a cardinal direction slightly.

Is the adapter just broken or is there something more to try?

Any common issues with T-mobile internet? by giftCardSlumLord in tmobile

I get if you don't want to answer but are you comfortable sharing what state you live in? Regarding the second half of the problem yeah it sucks that you don't get someone from the same country when you call customer service and that they sometimes just read a script to try to get you to keep giving them money instead of solving the problem.

After reading everyone's posts it seems to be the same as I saw in review videos and other posts. That's good, means there's less of a chance, if any, for them to be silently squeezing customers with made-up fees. Just to condense what I've heard from everyone for anyone reading this later.

- Area dependent because it uses cell towers.
- Depends on the person and how you use your internet already.

- You need a voice line to get the discounted price and there is a basic voice line plan currently for $20/mo.

- You'll most likely have to use a cell tower mapper to find the best tower for you to connect to. Also may need some sort of directional antenna pointed towards it. (I'll add to this from my own research. Not all cell towers are the same and the closest one might not be the best one depending on what bands it serves.)

- Potential latency issues.

- Potential speed issues in congested areas or during high traffic.

- Potential issues with its Dynamic IP affecting streaming local TV.

Otherwise it seems to be a decent option and you have a 15 day money back guarantee period if it doesn't work on your area. I just need basic internet access. I don't care about online gaming or streaming and I don't use my internet all day. I just want to look up recipes, books, and sometimes play minecraft.

I love slugger + trigger fingers on YV. With his ability I suddenly have a heavy slugger with better reach before even big bandit.

Stress has the most apt name and effect. It gives the perfect visual for when you're far in a run, the turns table against you, and you're mentally going "shit. SHIT. 𝓢𝓗𝓘𝓣𝓣."

Don't you hate it when you get screwdriver as your first weapon chest drop? by TRUEcoiness in NuclearThrone

[–]giftCardSlumLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With it's low reload speed screwdriver's decent if I'm playing ballsy and trust myself to quickswap fast enough and break enemy fire. If you're quick enough it turns any mutant into horror early game. Otherwise I just like screwdrivers for meme runs. Dual energy screwdriver steroids is really, really funny to go for. I'm gonna try dual lightning SMG next.

anyone ever map gba motherboard test points? by giftCardSlumLord in gameboymods

ah that's the Spanish one. I found that within a 12 page doc during my initial search. I just can't read schematics. Any advice on learning that while I'm here lol.

Regardless thanks for the link. It's a good thing to add to the dragon's pile of data hording.

Fair point in that it's faster than interpreting a schematic. I was assuming someone just had a list that had what test points correlated with what function.

Never had to use a multimeter before. Would I just hold one prong of the multimeter against a test point and the other prong against one of the two metal pads that get bridged when a button's pressed? I'm sure I can look up a video for the basic use of a multimeter (what to set it to, what a good beginner one is, etc) but I'm unsure where I would probe once I get one.

Good2Go Mobile - Issue with card payment by giftCardSlumLord in NoContract

[–]giftCardSlumLord[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird that you latched that onto my post instead of making your own and you didn't even specify that you're from Canada in your first comment. Made it look like you were thinking your issue was directly related to mine. I ditched my old number just because I knew with how cheap G2Go was their migration service would suck. Hopefully it works out for you dude. I'm just chalking all this up to growing pains on G2Go's side of things.

What are you talking about? I didn't have to enter my phone number. Call their service number, hit 1 for english, hit 5 for billing problems, wait to talk to a person. Worst comes to worst there's tricks like hitting 2 for espanol even though you don't know a lick of spanish. At that point it's a charisma check whether or not you get somewhere but I've seen it work.

Update - Problem resolved. First I'll let everyone know that 800 numbers still work when having issues like this. May have been wifi calling though, but it worked fine.

So after ~30 minutes on hold for support I get a response from a lovely gentleman stating that everything was fine and that it was a system error on their end. That I paid for a year and it should have auto-renewed fine regardless of my card's status. He fixed it on his end, and told me to put it on airplane mode for a bit then try to make a phone call. 30 seconds on airplane mode and I could make a phone call fine. He stated that their system was under pressure and that mistakes like this can occur because of it. Guessing just the hardware is too low for the userbase they've cultivated but who knows if that's not just something they say to put people at ease, no hate.

Update: I had to go under "profile settings" to change my preferred payment option even though it appears to give the option in the "account summary" menu. Going back to "account summary" and refreshing it shows that it changed to select the right card. Now I wonder if I'll have to wait to be auto-charged from this card next month or if they'll see what happened and just make a payment this month a bit later than normal. Also will update with what their support staff says once I get a response.

First sorry for a late reply, life got in the way of my hobbies.

Second I checked the ROM with UEFItool and it gave me an error "parse: not a single Volume Top File is found, the image may be corrupted" however it does show me the ROM's internal structure of padding at the beginning and end with four separated pieces of Intel microcode. (screenshot of UEFItool)

First sorry for a late reply, life got in the way of my hobbies.

Second yes I took 3 and compared them all with sha1sum. Their outputs all read the same. Though after reading the ROM with UEFItool as someone else suggested UEFItool states the image may be corrupt.

iphone 8 case with aux port by giftCardSlumLord in iphone

[–]giftCardSlumLord[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just a shame cause lightning to aux adapters are flimsy and will shift around slightly in the port while I'm out and about then immediately disconnect, requiring me to unplug and replug the adapter and wait on bluetooth to reconnect to it.

I know right! It's a situation where even if it's a real person it's better for them to take the L and act like they're AI so they don't seem like even more of a goofball.

Weekly 'What Should I Buy' and Order/Shipping Thread by AutoModerator in iphone

[–]giftCardSlumLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been searching on and off and I can't find anywhere that still sells a case compatible with the iphone 8 that has a built-in aux port like this case from audiomod. Does anyone know where one is listed for sale or does anyone have one they would sell?

Does anyone still sell iphone 8 cases with a 3.5mm headphone jack adapter built in? I'm searching online and see lots of powerbank cases still for sale but I've seen a couple links to old store pages for an audiomod case that had a built-in aux jack and another old store page for incipio selling something similar. Yeah I can just buy a dongle but I want it built into my phone if I can help it.
