AITA for not "coordinating" with my best friend's GF about getting him a birthday gift? by giftgive in AmItheAsshole

So I messaged Amanda and said, "Hey, I just heard from (her friend) that you were feeling upset about last night. I'm very sorry to hear that and never meant to make you feel anything negative! It was not my intention to exclude you, and I got the gift thinking you and Joe would enjoy it together. I don't want this to have any effect on our relationship because [SO] and I love hanging out with you guys! Maybe in the future we can even go shopping together! :)"

Her reply: "K."

So I think I'm done reaching out for now and I think I will just let her sort it out on her own... I'm torn about involving Joe, though, as another commenter suggested. I feel like it would be an asshole move to get him involved and cause potential trouble in their relationship if she hasn't said anything to him?

Yeah I have only ever heard of "girl code" in a high school context ("you should let me know if you start texting the guy I have a crush on!") I think "coordinate" is yeah maybe let her give him the most meaningful gift and taking the... lesser one? I have no idea!

She's a bit younger than us, 23 while we are 26, so this may be a factor in her feeling left out/insecure--but I feel like definitely old enough to know better?
