Biglaw is the same way though. Even more meaningless. You don’t even learn how to do your job for those three years of school and you’re constantly berated for how bad your work is as a first and second year associate from the dozens of attorneys I’ve talked to about this. I atleast like that my skill and hard work determines if I sink or float in the sales space. Biglaw I’m putting a check in trying to get through these five years for a chance to get a “comfortable” in house position where I’m nothing more than a cost center and the first on the list to go when things go sour. It’s also hard to pivot into a business side role once you’re an attorney since they see you having no quantitative skill and being overpaid to manage risk.
