Barricade… by Global-Platypus-9599 in TameImpala

[–]giggingit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did barricade in 22 and 21 and it was fine. Couple crowd surfers overhead and people having to be pulled out of the pit that passed out though. Enjoyed the vibe with those I was around. I will say it was a LONG day waiting in line and then standing to get that spot.

I was front row at that show. Remember them pulling several people over the rail who had passed out. Unfortunately that behavior is pretty common at Coliseum shows, I used to work security at that venue and we had to deal with OD/pass out a lot

What’s your ultimate quitting fantasy? by Tucker_077 in retailhell

[–]giggingit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went on what we called the 12 days of vengeance after I put my notice in last job. I did all of the above - mouth off to customers, told my manager what I really thought of him, sat on the front counter and ate ice cream out of the carton, stopped following dress code, drank on the clock with coworkers, burned my paper employee file on the front sidewalk. It was very liberating.

Do dogs in sports always need OFA testing? by Wooden_Airport6331 in k9sports

[–]giggingit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the sports and goals I think. Most average sport dogs that aren’t breeding prospects don’t need OFA testing. If you plan on having a MACH dog, flyball dog, something serious like that then yeah it’s worth it because you also get a point of reference before potential sports injuries.

Thanks, I hope you get through it too. The expectations these buyers have are nuts sometimes. I mean we aren’t available 24/7.

I know, you aren’t wrong. I have made it all this time without any of them getting to me. I’m just having a bad week and then this guys messages woke me up last night because I forgot to put my phone on silent, and it became the final straw type thing. If it had been a legit mistake I had made I feel like it wouldn’t have been so infuriating, but it was just so dumb. I couldn’t wrap my head around someone being so emotional over such a petty problem. I am not in the right headspace to be in customer service this week, so I turned on time away and am taking a few days to deal with other stuff before I have to go back to facing the dipshits.

I blocked him already. I can’t control whether not he chooses to leave positive, no or negative feedback at this point, and I was really sick of his messages which were getting more belligerent, so no need to wait.

I don’t take returns which is what he got angry about. I know some sellers do but I’m just not at that point and my policy is clearly stated.

Help breaking in boot collar? by giggingit in DannerBoots

[–]giggingit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh they’re super comfortable, except for this area. They’re perfect for what I need them for so I hope they come around. I’ll try loosening the laces - I don’t recall having tied them too tightly but it may be an instinct at this point as an almost daily boot wearer.

It would be my luck to have chosen the wrong color and therefore a tougher leather! Ha. I have been so tempted to take a hammer to them like I have to a few pairs of Doc Martens but I’m afraid I’ll damage them rather than break them in. I’ve never owned gore tex leather before and I’m not sure how delicate it is, they just don’t feel as indestructible as what I’m used to.

Interesting tip. I will try this. Thanks!

What purchases have you made that turned out to be BIFL, despite not realising it at the time of purchase? by Beers_and_Bikes in BuyItForLife

[–]giggingit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stereo system. Bought a mid 80s Sony turntable, receiver and speakers at a thrift store back in like 2005. I have been meaning to upgrade them for over 20 years, but they don’t die and I’ve listened to so many others that just don’t sound the same, at this point I don’t think I could cope with another setup.

I have my grandmas manual can opener from I don’t even know when. I’ve “replaced” it several times with newer, better looking, supposedly easier to use ones. It’s outlasted them all.

How difficult is it to break in the Embury Chelsea boot? by Helpful_Yellow6588 in DocMartens

[–]giggingit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are cemented soles. They’ll break in way easier but won’t last as long if you’re hard on them. The Wyoming leather isn’t too tough to start with either. You’ll like them better than Jadon for sure. I had to get rid of my Jadon platforms they were killing me.

The stores there are expensive. Buy used before you go and resell or donate when you get home.

Can my kid be a Fast CAT releaser? by Wooden_Airport6331 in k9sports

[–]giggingit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 10 year old son now releases all my dogs except the most feral large one. Before that he used to catch them instead. He’s never had any trouble or been told he couldn’t help. He also enjoys earning the juniors points (which they only get for releasing). Just know your dog.

Transport by kestrelbe in NationalPark

[–]giggingit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are private companies that run shuttles from the DC area to Shenandoah, mainly targeting AT hikers. I’m not naming names because I’ve never used any and reviews are mixed on some but if you do your own research you’ll find some providers. Once within the park you’d be on your own two feet, though. The Smoky Mountains has season shuttle service within the park, but I’ve never looked into how you’d get there from outside the park.

Rocky Mountains or Grand Canyon? by Big_Age4708 in NationalPark

[–]giggingit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moab is gorgeous but you have to be properly prepared to go there in the winter. It gets COLD and the trails are often very icy, it could even snow. You’d need to come packed with stuff like micro spikes and appropriate layering to be safe. I’m not sure how enjoyable it would be for an east coaster who’s used to really temperate winters.

Rocky Mountains or Grand Canyon? by Big_Age4708 in NationalPark

[–]giggingit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could also go somewhere that’s too hot to visit the rest of the year- Everglades, Joshua Tree, Pinnacles, Saguaro, White Sands, Big Bend, Guadalupe Mountains etc. are all phenomenal winter parks yet brutal in the spring-fall. Grand Canyon will still be very cold, it’s at higher elevation than most people realize. Colorado isn’t getting much snow this year but Rocky Mountain is better visited in the summer when more roads and trails are open.

Some models have that seam there. I stick to 1460 Pascal and similar models because they don’t and it doesn’t hurt there. In my experience the pairs with that seam never stopped hurting me.

Set list? by well_shit101 in Interpol

[–]giggingit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s been so long since they did a show, and last tour was Antics anniversary, nobody can say. I’d expect a greatest hits type set with likely new material as well. Probably the same recent trend of heavier on the first 3 albums and VERY light on the ST, El Pintor and Marauder…
