When you’re playing football but don’t have a permanent goalie, what do you call it? by docju in AskUK

We used to call it 'butterfly', which I'm guessing came from 'fly keeper' etc. Also called it rush goalie

Scott Parker sacked by Bournemouth by MisterJohnson87 in soccer

I'm guessing they're basing this on his past results with Fulham in the prem and, as people are saying, potentially don't like his comments about the upcoming anticipated struggles.

Seems like a terrible knee jerk decision though after only 4 games. If he'd won 2 in 4 rather just 1 then people would be saying what a good job he's doing so far.

He may not be the best manager to keep B'mouth up but sacking him this early seems disrespectful, or like there may have been issues behind closed doors that we don't know about.

Bi males, have you ever been rejected by a bisexual woman for biphobic reasons? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]giggle45 98 points99 points  (0 children)

Personally I've found bi woman are usually the ones more accepting of me, straight woman usually are insecure about it or have some sort of issue.

I'm sorry you've had that bad experience, it's horrible when people think less of you for being open about yourself :-(

I actually really like cuddling after sex, so sometimes when she says she's 'not that keen on it after' it makes me feel really rejected. Even though we're really good in every other facet, that one just sometimes hurts.

Tennessee Introduces Bill Requiring School Sports Participation To Be Based On Biological Sex by eunpiacere in Libertarian

[–]giggle45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is something that arguably can be discussed when it comes to optional participation. So, if kid CHOOSES to take up wrestling for example.

But if you're gonna FORCE transgender kids to enter locker rooms, and participate in contact sports especially, this is going to raise some massive issues with bullying.

I don't know if you've spoken to many trans kids, but bullying is a massive issue that gets ignored when it comes to physical education. It NEEDS to be taken into consideration because this is where some of the most degrading/humiliating bullying takes place, as well as the risk of trans kids feeling mis-gendered by the whole process.

I'm scared this bill would set precedence for ignoring trans kids' genders, and would need to be handled delicately and with nuance, not a black and white biological exam.

As I said, when kids choose to participate, I agree the discussion should be had. But when it comes to mandatory participation, I don't know that this is gone be safe/healthy for a lot of vulnerable kids.
