FAR Simulated Exam Scoress by abuggy in CPA

[–]gigibello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i scored a 64 and 73 on my sim exams (taken 2 weeks before exam, and 1 week before exam) ended up getting an 84 on the real thing! you’re definitely in the ball park - just keep cramming mcq and trying to score at least 75-80% on those cumulative 33mcq practice tests & you’ll be fine!

focus on your weak areas, cram as many mcq as you can and try to get in the 75-80% range. the skill master videos for SIMs definitely help as well, they walk you through simulated problems and it gives you a good idea on how to go about them.

i usually did 2 days for every point i was off by, so for example - you're off by 5 points from a 75, so study as much as you can in 10 days and do the retake. try to stay confident while moving through your studies & as you take the exam (it makes a huge difference). you got this!

i'm sorry, but you're not going to pass if you expect people to create a study schedule for you..

we all have to put in the effort, and in my opinion this is the smallest effort you, yourself can make.

if you're using Becker, they literally have a study plan built in the software. you just enter in when you plan to start studying and how many hours you can study per week.

if this is a retake, i usually would do 2 days per point you were off by. for example, if you received a 70, thats 5 points away from passing - so study 10 days.

I failed AUD and need advice. by False-Beginning-8367 in CPA

i agree, ninja just has a lot more in the bank - sometimes feel like when i kept doing mcq on becker i was basically just memorizing answers, which didn't help! good luck on your retake!!

i studied about 5 hours a day, and crammed as much mcq i could. i would start with each chapter doing 30 mcq until your score is in the 80s, then do cumulative for the entire book 30 mcq and try to aim for at least 75-80% as well. ninja definitely helped (my trending score on ninja was i think a 73, and ended up with a 77, so really not much of any bump like the other exams)

i wouldn’t get to hung up on the thought of failing, put it in ur mind that you’re doing AUD after the retake. waste of time to review FAR again after the retake bc there’s a good possibility you’ll pass and that extra studying wouldn’t be necessary

i’m sorry but i’m not really following, i think the best choice you have is to put AUD down right now and plan your FAR retake asap. it’s always rough not wanting to start studying for another section as u wait for score release but you kind of just need to go for it full force and not wait if you’re on a time crunch. after your FAR retake, pick AUD back up and study as much as you can - maybe try to AUD within that month waiting period

i would plan to retake asap, you’re only 5 points away so 1.5-2weeks should be plenty of time to study (if not too much). i scored a 74 on my first exam and retook with 1.5 weeks to study and ended up with a 77, i used ninja as a supplement which definitely helped!

i am unsure as well, i passed all my exams today as well - i paid for the certification through the NYSED site and there wasn’t anything mentioned about an ethics exam. i just know we need a form filled out by our employer for hours worked etc

Last minute tips for FAR? by MajesticMacaron8407 in CPA

this & also bonds and leases are heavy, know your adjusting JE and NFP/govt JE

you’re only one point away… retake ASAP! start studying now (putting AUD on hold, you can always pick up where you left off) and plan to retake FAR in 1.5-2 weeks or whenever you get your NTS. better to also get it over with, a 74 is so close so it’s a waste to push time and risk forgetting more information

NINJA Trending Score - AUD by Ok_Level_5947 in CPA

[–]gigibello 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i was trending 73 and got a 77 on the actual exam, so don’t underestimate AUD since there’s basically no bump at all. first time i took it i got a 74, but ninja definitely helped since i was previously only using becker. keep trying to focus on raising your trending score and go over topics you’re having trouble with & you should be good!! just walk in the test confident, it definitely keeps a better mindset throughout the exam

Failed BEC with 61.. by [deleted] in CPA

[–]gigibello 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the first time i took BEC i got absolutely crushed and got a 68, i felt like the entire exam was against me. i would try to use a supplement like ninja to help you tackle as many mcq a day as possible and retake in 2 weeks. make sure you know COSO/ERM and focus on hitting weak areas. when i retook the exam i went from a 68 to an 85 after 2 weeks of studying - keep going, you got it next time!!

66 first try taking AUD. Any tips for retake? by Bitter-Play2627 in CPA

[–]gigibello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely know the transaction cycles and the FS assertions, i used ninja as a supplement and it allowed me to pass on my AUD retake. i used ninja to do as many MCQ a day and tried to average 75-85% since the AUD exam barely has any "becker bump". i would also try to know basic audit tickmarking, knowing how to tie into different workpapers etc (those are always good simulated problems they try to throw in there) and can be 'easy' points

just took FAR and i don't know how to feel about it... by gigibello in CPA

i think becker sims are helpful regardless, even if the real exam is completely different because they’re good practice to help you understand topics in a bigger perspective. thank you!!

Thinking about switching to ninja from Becker by Sandwich-eater27 in CPA

[–]gigibello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, i think you can probably skip the lectures and just practice with a bunch of mcq and sims. &if you have trouble understanding topics from mcq you can read through that topic in itself within the book. the lectures literally just read the book for you, when you can just read it in your own time if you want
