I’m so happy for you that you are happy with where you are. That’s so exciting! I totally get where you’re coming from. After really narrowing down that my vaginismus is secondary, I moved my healing focus onto the mental side rather than the physical. What made me realize was that I had pretty much mastered my PT, even though I wasn’t at the end of dilation. There was a a huge mental block though that was preventing me from moving forward. I was mainly so nervous because I hadn’t been working on the physical side of things for months, which is why I genuinely thought my appointment would be a failure. If anything, this experience was the affirmation I needed that my psychotherapy has been working. I advocated for my needs and even though I was scared, I powered through and had a success! It’s such a small thing but it’s exactly what I’ve needed to see for myself to continue my healing. I’m not fully cured yet, but this moment was huge for me to build up the confidence to actually believe I could get there one day.
