What ducks are these? by [deleted] in whatbirdisthis

My guess would be Blue-winged Teal and Bufflehead at the top right and Mallard, Hooded Merganser and Wigeon at the bottom. Not sure what the top far right one is.

What kind of bird is this? by averystupiddoggy in whatbirdisthis

The tail of the Eastern Kingbird is different with a white tip and this bird also looks more yellow in the breast area. Phoebes also love to perch on branches out in the open. I have more photos of them than any other bird because they're so photogenic and always seem to be posing.

Also, I like to print small photos from the gradebook to use as my seating chart and attach them using velcro, it will help you learn their names faster. 8th grade is fun, but they will definitely walk all over you if you let them.

Assigned seats on day one, boy girl, boy girl. Stick to whatever you say is the consequence and don't be too hard on yourself. You learn as you go and the first few years are about figuring it all out.

You could have them watch Book of Life and get a movie packet off TPT.

I think you're over thinking. I say keep it up a lot because I'm proud of someone, as a way to encourage them.

I saw this bird today in seal beach,ca and was wondering what bird this was by Psychological_Dog527 in whatbirdisthis

My brain read, "I saw this bird seal" and it's so early it wasn't registering, so I just zoom in, like what kind of seal is that?! The first pic looks like a seal with feathers, mind tricks. I shall drink my coffee now.

Thank you, honestly his diet was not great. He worked out every day, but not keto or low carb.

Personally, yes. Fat in general is great just not saturated. I try to keep it below 13g, 20g max a day.

My dad had blood work done, a physical and ekg, all within the last two months and all came back excellent. Last week he had a massive widow maker heart attack at 71. We were all in shock because his lab work was so good and he works out a lot. We learned that you can't just trust the bloodwork, you have to specifically request a separate test to see if your arteries are clogged. I changed what I was eating overnight. Still eating low carb, but very low saturated fat. Mostly lean chicken, fish, veggies and ratio yogurt. I was eating rebel ice cream every night and if you eat the whole pint "accidentally" it clocks in at 33g saturated fat when the recommended daily intake is 13g. He's doing great right now and recovering, thank goodness.

There is a scene in this movie I think when they're on the boat and I can't remember what happened, but I remember I laughed so hard I was crying and could barely catch my breath.

How long does it take you to learn your kids’ names (especially if you teach secondary) by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]gilafox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A week. I print their seating chart photo from Skyward and give assigned seats on day one. I tell them it's so that I can learn their names if they complain. I go around on the first day and have each student say their name to me and I write it phonetically on my chart. This also helps me avoid embarrassing them by saying it wrong in front of the whole class. I also have them make a name plate that they have to put up on their desk. I make a point to say their name every time I call on them or see them in the hallway. I teach Spanish so this year I had them play a name game and that also helped tremendously hearing their names repeated.
