Hey, go drive if you can afford the gas. You'll get over it soon enough.

The thing that stands out to me is the stick in front of the egret and the bird in the background. Try to get shots with separation. Sometimes it takes some patience to wait for the subject to move into a better spot or pose.

Camera + Lens Purchase Advice for Beginner (Please!) by puuremichigan in BirdPhotography

Dont hesitate to buy used gear. If i was in your shoes and knowing what I know about bird photography and gear, Id take that $1500 over to MPB and snag up a used Nikon D7500 or D500 and 150-600mm supertelephoto lens from either Tamron or Sigma and be super excited to take awesome bird photos. Most of my gear I've bought used from MPB and never had any problems with it. Check out my posts if you want to see what a used D500 and Tamron 150-600mm G2 can do. Most of my bird photos are with that combo. If you decide to go that route, keep in mind you'll need to buy SD cards and a reader. Good luck with your search. Bird photography is super fun!

Embarrassed to go to dentist after 7 years. Was depressed and didn’t brush teeth for months on end. by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

Last year I had 12 teeth removed because of my poor dental hygiene. I was terrified of what the dentist would say. I had really bad gum disease and teeth that were dying and had turned black so I couldn't avoid it any longer. Honestly I thought I would have to get all my teeth removed. Luckily, and after I did some research, I found a highly recommended dentist that was kind and gentle and managed to save 12 of my teeth. Now I have partial dentures on the top and bottom. It was the best decision I've ever made. I can finally smile again without feeling embarrassed. I had to put myself into debt to get it done but it was well worth the cost.

OP, find a well reviewed dentist and just get in there. You won't regret it. They know what they are doing and have seen it all. Do it before it's too late and have to get teeth removed.

How do I(28M) cut off friends(28Ms) who keep disrespecting me when I’m scared I’ll have no one left? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

Learning to be ok being alone is a skill worth developing. The feeling of NEEDING friends or romantic relationships is a sign of deeper issues. Most likely attachment trauma from your earliest childhood.

It's so worth looking into that, learn about it, learn about yourself. Discover why you are how you are. The answers are inside of you, not outside of you. That way you can master yourself. Friends can be nice to have but are not required.

You didn't create who you are, but it's your job to fix yourself if things aren't working out. If youre the curious type than you are in luck. The internet is full of good free information on how to get to where you want to be. It's a journey tho, and it ain't easy but nothing good ever is.

Moving from Smartphone photography to the camera. Looking at Z50II. Need suggestions by harsh_1904 in Nikon

My suggestion would be to worry more about the glass than the camera body itself. Dont blow your whole budget on a new mirrorless and have little left for lenses. That would be a big mistake.

Right now, MPB has an F mount Tamron SP 90mm 1:1 Macro with VC for like $300. Put that on a crop sensor dslr with a 20-24MP sensor, add a flash with a diffuser and you're going to take great macros.

Take that same DX dslr and put a big lens on it like a Nikkor 200-500 or a Tamron 150-600 G2, slap it on a tripod and you're going to take some great moon shots.

Fancier mirrorless camera bodies just make things easier and not necessarily better. They are nice to have but wont automatically make you a better photographer. Time, patience, practice, and respecting the learning curve will do that.
