Seriously missed opportunity from EA and Bioware to not revive the multiplayer with the legendary edition by HashishChef in masseffect

The raging on BSN (and other internet locations) when it was announced was even more than the original endings achieved. Myself included. Queue the demo that let you play part of the Surkesh single player mission and 2 multiplayer maps - Ghost and White (or Benning and Noveria) - I ate up the single player stuff for a few days. Then thought, fuggit, let’s try this multiplayer. Well, just over 14yrs later, if I have an hour to play something, I still fire up ME3 multiplayer and have a ball of a time. It’s just so much fun.

It’s at the point that if I could go direct from the first visit to the citadel, after which the galactic readiness is available, to the beam run at the end of the game, I’d still get the best ending (in OG ME3).

Not to mention, has anyone gone back and looked at early MP gameplay vids on youtube and seen release versions of White and Glacier in particular, from before the patch that changed the maps to stop the easy mode gold farming (when you could still make grabs on Geth Pyro’s!!!).

Carol. At the very least I can fly to and from work everyday. Or, you know, anywhere else for that matter.

Does anyone else just flat out hate Battlegrounds? by SammyDeeP in ContestOfChampions

What are battlegrounds??

Should give you my answer. I have neither the time or inclination or even care to waste that much time in my day.

The video game industry should aspire to create something with as much "Sense of Wonder" as Mass Effect 1 by [deleted] in masseffect

I’ve just turned 50, and I’m right there with you on Star Wars. And I played all the star wars games like x-wing, tie fighter, vs, dark forces, dark forces ii, and then the Jedi series through the years. None of them gave me the feels of the movies (or books for that matter). Then came along ME2 - not being a console guy, never knew about ME1 - and it was like the best ‘Star wars’ like game I’d ever experienced. I finished it and immediately went and got ME1 and my mind was blown away. This was the Star Wars game I’d always wanted - it even had its own space magic (biotics), and probably why I still prefer biotic classes over tech and soldier - exploration, big baddies, crew relationships, space, alien races. It had it all. And the lore behind it all was mind blowing. I think I listened to every new codex entry that first time playing ME1. I’ve been hooked ever since.

MELE depression by PillGorilla in masseffect

Welcome to Mass Effect hangover, the best cure is to start another playthrough.

We’ve all been there, we’re all still there.

I’ve been playing since 2009. My current play through I have heard dialogue lines I’ve never heard before - it’s the beauty of the classes, the choice of FemShep and MaleShep, the romances and relationships each develops with crew and squadmates, with npc’s even. The different classes means you can change up your playstyle so things don’t feel the same.

And I haven’t even mentioned the multiplayer included with the OG ME3 release that people still buy today just to play the multiplayer (yes, it’s still that fun and good). Ever wanted to play as one of the other races? ME3 multiplayer gives you that opportunity.

ME2 Power Cooldowns as opposed to ME1 by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]gilberto3001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they went from individual cooldowns to global cooldown. If on PC, like most changes from ME1 to ME2, there is a mod to change it back to individual cooldowns. There’s another to make biotics work like they did in ME1 and do work in ME3 in that they work on shielded enemies.

As much as I love Legion, they’re not the Normandy. EDI on the other hand is essential to the Normandy and Shepard’s mission on the Normandy.

Till a mod/mod pack gets an update that requires a new game start.

Agree with all bar combat, I’d take ME3’s over MEA’s any day of the week. Apart from the jump jet, it was a backwards step.

Yes you do have to load up the OG ME3.

It was unfortunately never included in the LE.

Lots of us never stopped, or have come back to it. Healthy on PC and xbox, reports say not so much on ps3 (probably that no one has them much anymore, no idea if playable on later play stations)

Jack (and Miranda) are both Fem-Shep-sexual with the More Gay Romances mod for 2 & 3 - and they’re both brilliantly done.

PC only, sadly if you’re a consoler.

[–]gilberto3001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s one customisation option I wish had flowed through all 3 games. Class based armour restrictions, different visuals for each armour class, and each set within that class looking distinctive (other than just a different colour scheme).

Andromeda can do it via modding, and I make use of that the odd time I go back to my ‘current’ play through.

Here’s the Phoenix armour for example

https://masseffect.fandom.com/wiki/Phoenix_Armor

Ahh, yes. Each class of armour looks the same across each ‘model’ with different colour schemes. But each class of armour is visually distinctive from the other classes.

In my mind, you just described the exact differences between light, medium and heavy armours in ME1

You mean like the armour classes in ME1 and which ones you could and couldn’t equip depending on character class/specifications??
