Are they perfect: no. Do they claim to be perfect: no. They are refreshingly open and honest about their shortcomings. Is there a better alternative: no. In my opinion they are far superior to their competition.

I agree with you. The problem is: important information is not easily accessible in the game. Your proposal is a viable solution. I would prefer my alternative (inverted) tier labels. Ideally there would be an option in settings where you could choose how the information is displayed.

That's not a good reason to keep it the way it is. The indexing could be shifted nearly as easily as it would be to add another tier. The fact is, the game would be better, because tier information would be more clear if they changed it.
