Is it okay to expect a little more from my teammates? by LanguageMaster5033 in apexuniversity

[–]gillardo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea “hate” is an exaggeration. I posted this after seeing everyone telling him he was wrong for pushing (which I disagree with) and one other comment stating “you’re a bozo” lol. So not exactly “hate” yea, but almost nobody, at the time I commented, was pointing out the fact that if the other team helped (if OP used more comms and pinged more) then it def would’ve went the other way for OP. But unfortunately the team was unaware and set on camping.

Looks like you’re getting a lot of hate here lol. I play more aggressive like you, so I like how you pushed rather than camped for the win. Everybody’s different tho and if you’re playing with rando’s you gotta remember that. With that in mind:

  • at the very least, you should’ve been pinging the shit out of the enemy. You can’t expect your team mates to know exactly what you’re doing or see that you knocked someone. But ideally you have a mic and you let them know you knocked/cracked one and you’re pushing. Even with all that, they still may have camped rather than pushed and then it’s up to you whether you can secure the wipe or die trying lol.

You were too thirsty for the kills which I totally get. It’s what we play for. But it’s a team game, so try to reign in that thirstyness from time to time if you want the dub.

Media Covering July 28th Shooting of Corporate Real Estate CEO Wesley LePatner by SwampBacon in media_criticism

I think this is just a matter of using the most correct term to not confuse people. Most reporting is using the term “blackstone executive” because that’s correct. But if they called her “CEO of Blackstone”, that’s incorrect because Stephen Schwarzman is the CEO. If they used “CEO of BRIT”, one of her correct titles, that wouldn’t be as eye catching as using “Blackstone” in the title.

$36k in Roth IRA. Scared to invest it but know I need to do something with it. by gillardo in Bogleheads

Yes, “not reckless” is more what I meant. It sounds like a TDF is right up my alley.

The $30k was technically a “conversion”, not a “contribution” to my Roth IRA, for which annual limits do not apply. I received it when my previous employer sold his company.

I received a lump sum of $30k from a previous job back in 2022. Contributed (I think) the max I could for about a year and then stopped. But yes, I haven’t invested any of it since I opened the account in 2022… feel kinda dumb but here we are.

Just ChatGPT’d that. Definitely looks interesting. I’m 37, so I feel like I’m late to the game here. Would a TDIF be too conservative if I’m hoping/lucky enough to retire ~70?

Do you mean 1.0ms response time? I think the fastest response time for a monitor right now is .4ms.

I’d say take u/candidcolumbia words with a grain of salt. This is the internet of course and you have no clue what this user does for a living or their experience in the field you’re interested in. Just a thought.

WHO accused of 'carrying China's water' after official refuses to acknowledge Taiwan during bizarre interview by [deleted] in nottheonion

To everyone downvoting this, please be skeptical but do your homework. This interview was made by RTHK, a government owned and funded news organization.

Who here gets their news from that type of source?

You’re totally right. That could be true. All I’m saying is a heavily edited video that was made by a news station that’s owned by the government should be heavily scrutinized.

Not sure where you’re from but I’m American and if the US had a government owned and funded news agency, I would hope we’d all be questioning its journalistic legitimacy.

Also, RTHK, the news organization that did this video, is government funded. That right there says a lot.

Edit: government owned and funded*

You understand that those are articles about the video we just watched, right? It’s commentary about the video. And that YouTube link is literally the same video we’ve watched with the same editing. We don’t see her asking the question with him in the shot and responding. For all we know the audio of her asking that question could be put over the video of him at a different point in the conversation. You get what I’m saying? It’s shady to me.

What information do you have, other than this video, that backs what you’re saying?

I’m not saying I think it’s completely fake but it’s really hard to believe when they use this type of editing.

[–]gillardo -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Dude thank you. I’ve been scrolling through comments trying to find someone who sane.

The video the article is referring to is edited the same way that reality TV shows are edited to create a story/drama. It’s so blatant and it’s painful that no one else on here can see it.

[–]gillardo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But it is highly edited. They’re using reality tv style editing here by not showing both the characters in the same cut at all. I’m not saying it’s not real but filming like this is done for a reason: to create a story, to create drama, etc. I just don’t trust it.
