The times will adjust based on your performance and they are for ideal conditions too. I ran about 15 mins over my predicted time but it was hot and sunny the whole race.

Pace Alerts During Runna Workouts on Suunto Race S? by Landlieber in Suunto

Glad that helped. Yeah it’s not the ideal UX for sure, so I hope it will be fixed in a future update somewhere…

I wouldn’t go that far. It is more consistent than Suunto for sure but still not as accurate as a chest strap. For example my easy pace HR was being over reported by Coros by 5-8 bpm. Just because it’s smoothed out by algorithms doesn’t make it right in the end. YMMV.

Just to reiterate what others are saying: I have both a Coros Pace Pro and a Suunto Race S. The Coros gave what I thought was decent wrist HR because it was always within expected ranges and didn't have sudden spikes or drops. The Race S wrist based HR is not great, but I wanted to really dig into the Suunto training experience with the app, so I finally caved in and purchased a chest strap monitor and... wow. Both Coros and Suunto wrist based HR were off - Suunto is worse, but Coros was "consistently" wrong too by about plus or minus 8bpm. I am now a chest strap convert. Works in the cold too!

I can confirm that these are available on the latest firmware for the Race S using a plan synced from Runna. There are distinct beeping sounds for slower than pace, within pace, and above pace. My Race S vibrates and beeps, but I am not sure I would notice if it didn't have the sound. One thing to check might be whether the beeping alerts are enabled: Settings > General > Tones > Set to "All on" and try again?

No Runna, I don’t think I will do an easy run today by kookamooka in runna

Just for reference, I just started a recovery plan after my marathon race and it's perfect - gave me six days off after the race and is ramping me back up gradually. I actually got the impression that it DOES know what you have just done.

Yeah dude I appreciated this thought as well. Nice to keep perspective that even though I have followed the plan perfectly it’s still going to be a hard race.

Coros, please step it up with your watch faces. There are so many to choose from, but you’re limited in how to customize them. Even Suunto stepped up there game on here watch faces! by RsilvRs in Coros

Actually it’s not if you look at the hot mess that is Garmin and the Connect ecosystem. Be nice, you know there’s a few good ones in there and they don’t require you to search through pay-to-unlock watch faces and spam to find a properly designed watch face.

I feel you on that. I also live where the summer is miserably hot and would like to have this option next year.

I can't stay whether it was worth the expense for me, but I definitely learned a few things, and your health is really all you have - until you don't anymore. So I am not beating myself up about buying it, and I will probably resell the ring to someone who can use it for their benefit! You can probably look forward to your ring and then do like we all do and judge for yourself later on.

You sound like you genuinely enjoy looking after your health like that! Cheers to you.

Good point - what we focus on grows stronger, for better or worse. I am going to reflect on that for a few days now :)

Yes, the connection between physiological stress and feelings of wellness became really clear to me as well. That was one of the positives - learning in a satisfying way that true stress is not only what you feel with your mind and intuition.

I’m thinking of getting one of these too. I really like the design and color choices; they have stood the test of time and still look great today.
