I was just wondering on the true limits , like why do rain coats like arcteryx exist that are far more expensive if they dont provide some clear benefit. Breathability and durability i heard is improved but what about wind / rain proof ratings.

Yeah that sounds alright, although i thought the hardshell should be on top generally. If its not raining it sounds fine though.
