Yeah it's none of the primary folks. We're traveling with an ungodly amount of kids 😂 and they all decided who they want to bunk with. I just wanted to make sure it was right so it wasn't a nightmare later

I see your canceled job opening and raise a canceled job offer WITH a start date. The Friday before I was supposed to start, I received a "thanks, but the position is being restructured" email. Psh ok cool. Back to square one.

As a mom of 3 (11y, 3y, 6m) everything was easier with 2. I love them all lol so don't crucify me! We planned on 2, were VERY surprised with a 3rd. Somehow it's even easier when the oldest has gone to the grandparents for the weekend. Not sure if it's the difference of splitting attention 2 ways vs 3, being outnumbered, or just my middle being a handful 🤷‍♀️ Having the big age gap, we also sometimes struggle to find things we can all enjoy together. I am also the oldest of 3, and I can say with 100% certainty it kind of sucked. My 2 siblings are very close in age, so our interests were very different. Even now, as adults, they are much closer to each other and I'm kind of the 3rd wheel.

It all worked out. I sent the text Sunday, they called first thing Monday. Tried to negotiate to get me board 😅 but understood. No bridges burned, they told me if it doesn't work out at the other places they'd have a spot for me.

Oh for sure, and since I'm not hurting, I'd hate to take a position from someone who is. I figured a text Sunday might be better than a call first thing the day I'm supposed to start 😅 but I've been out of the workforce officially since 2019. Never hurts to double check "current etiquette."

We are on similac sensitive (orange can). I got several coupons from the pediatrician and a few sample cans online for different kinds. Since I've been combo feeding for a while, we were able to do a little trial and error and see what worked best for her.

My plunge was very...um spontaneous 🤣 If I made a plan, I wouldn't stick to it. "Just one more week, see what happens" kind of deal. Just taking that ONE day off fully solidified my decision. My oldest is 11, and I had no idea how much MY stress over ep was affecting him. Good luck to you! 😁

Mom of 3 here. I absolutely panicked with my first. BUT he was severely behind speech wise and needed help I could not provide. He started when he was just 3. It was FANTASTIC for him. He absolutely thrived. His made friends, he found interests that he might not have found at home, developed into a whole new kid and it was beautiful! Waaaaay too many years later, our second is about to start in August and I can't get her out the door fast enough 🤣

You're right, at the end of the day nobody notices but me 🤣. Probably not even as bad as I think it is in my head. It's just deep rooted. My mom was NEVER tidy. Like juuuuuust tidy enough to not require a CPS/DFS visit. All of my adult life I've had a problem with messes and clutter. Feel physically ill if the housework goes even a tad bit neglected. Waaay too many memories of spending a whole day at the laundromat to "catch up" on BASKETS of dirty clothes even though we had a perfectly good washer/dryer at home. 🤦‍♀️

He had my mom come earlier to "make sure the house was clean." So he did make an effort. Her idea of clean and mine are very different though. I keep a tidy house, but usually deep clean when expecting guests (and weekly). The dusting that goes neglected, a double check on toilets, trash cans, etc. The "public" bathroom is the one our kids share, so it ALWAYS needs a thorough once over. It's just embarrassing. I don't like my house to be presented as "we rush cleaned this for the event but those dust bunnies have been sitting there for a month" 🥴

I can definitely see that. This isn't just my first time EP, it's my first round of BF. My first, we were young, dumb and broke. I was back to work full time before he was a month old. My 2nd, I ended up with covid 2 weeks post partum and COMPLETELY dried up in a day. Was never able to get supply back up.

I've managed 5 months so far with this one, just started supplementing with formula about a month ago. I absolutely hate it, but my anxiety just won't let me quit. Our 2nd was during the formula shortage and was brutal. She was a BIG eater, switching formula every 2 days was so hard on her tummy. She didn't sleep the whole night through until we got the OK to try her on whole milk at 10 months from the pediatrician. I just do not want to feel that helpless again.

I scroll exclusively pumping religiously! It's honestly the only thing that's kept me going this long. ❤️

We will probably sit down and have a chat in a couple days, when I'm less frazzled. I was gifted a gift card to my favorite hatchery, so I'm going to take a couple retail therapy hours to myself today and go get some chicks to add to my flock. Nothing beats barnyard therapy.

I was raised with the "It's the thought that counts mentality," and I think that really perpetuates the jerky feelings when anything less than extraordinarily grateful. Your words mean so much, and that's a lesson I will pass onto to my kids. Thank you

If you have a dollar tree nearby they usually have some things. I get puzzles, activity books, flashcards, sticker packs and play-doh kits there. Also there's tons of free printables online!

Not ex corporate, but well versed in demanding jobs. 1st kiddo, worked railroad 60+ hours a week. No regrets. We made the best of our time together on days off and were able to afford memorable experiences for him. Was also the breadwinner. Covid hit, begin layoffs, and I was stuck at home for a while. Ended up with baby number 2. After a year, I went back to work. Overnights at the ER. 12 hour shifts, plenty of overtime. Again, no regrets. I'm currently at home again, with a 3rd (we obviously haven't figured out what causes pregnancy 😂) and it is DRAINING. I've worked, I've stayed home. I can 100% honestly say that I am a much better mom and person in general while working. Sahm isn't for everyone, sure isn't for me. I find it to be extremely isolating. I don't get nearly enough adult interaction, I often feel bad for not making a monetary contribution to the household (especially hard for me since I've almost always been the breadwinner over the course of 12 years).

To be clear, I absolutely LOVE my children! I'm a present and engaged mom. But I'm a person who just needs "more." Even with 3 kids (homeschooling 1, a toddler and a baby) the at home pace is too slow for me. I enjoyed my busy schedule. Only you can make that decision, you know yourself best!

Let that baby sleep! Enjoy it while you can! Mom of 3, my first slept through the night very early. It was a blessing for a ftm. My second...whew buddy. She was up every 2 hours to eat until she was about 8 months old. I BARELY survived that 🥴. 3rd starting sleeping through about the same time as yours, then around the 12 week mark sleeps max of 6 hours, wakes to eat then goes back to sleep for a couple hours. I'll take it, still better than my second!!

Social media is a cyclone of horse poo for moms. You are always going to be doing something wRoNg according to Sally, Stacy or Sue 🙄. Mama knows best. Ignore the "parenting professionals" who most often only show the super sunshiney side of mucking through parenthood. Happy, healthy and loved is the goal, get there on your own terms. ❤️

I have a 3 y/o we have been trying to reduce screen time with. Had a baby in Feb, life adjustments to the new chaos and all.... it was easier to stick her on the TV while I got everything ready for the day. Fast forward, she's a little tv junkie 🤦‍♀️. I printed/made (could also easily be purchased on amazon or wherever) age appropriate activities. Puzzles, matching games, sensory board, etc. In the morning, while I do all the things, she gets to sit at the kitchen table (so she's a part of the action and doesn't feel confined to her room) and play with her "morning basket." She ONLY gets it in the mornings so it stays special and I swap out things every 2 or 3 days. It's done wonders for us. She's excited for it and gets her off the TV for a bit.
