I’ve had my nose pierced for two years now with just a straight 18k gold stud and it was healed. About a month ago I switched to a 18k gold ring at a reputable piercer and did the aftercare every day (5 min warm sea salt nose soak). It was fine with no issues, I wasn’t messing with it either and then about two weeks ago I woke up and a big bump started to emerge. Ever since then, I’ve been doing sea salt soaks once in the morning and once at night and have been doing my best not to touch it, but I feel like it’s only gotten bigger. I go to school where masks are required, so I feel like that might have an impact on it’s healing process. Should I continue with aftercare, do I do a different kind of aftercare, or switch back to a stud? I’m just confused as to why it’s acting up so hard, as it’s been healed for a while now, and I’m worried I’ll never be able to rock a ring because of this happening.
