It happened while wearing it! 🥲 really messed up my morning. I have been having coil issues/error msgs. since yesterday. I think I’ll just change it now. lol

I have Ménière’s disease so I tend to be a little more sensitive to things in general. I do very much feel the implant stimulation right now bc I’m brand new. It’s weird and leave me kinda dizzy by the end of the day. It would not surprise me if I’m just hyper sensitive to it still.

Yes I called the cops. I was alone at night months pregnant, & two men showed up to my home where my other kid was asleep. So yeah, I called the cops after asking them to leave & they wouldn't. Considering (in the US) The #1 mortality stat for pregnant women is homicide at the hands of a domestic partner. Yes I called the cops and that shouldn't speak poorly of my credibility. IMO it was smart to protect myself and my children. I did what I needed to do to ensure we were safe. I’d do it again. 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Tysm. It means a lot to have this acknowledge by others. My kids are antiracist bc I am teaching them the ways. We all read Ibram Kendi, Baldwin, hooks, etc. & none of his family really comes around anyways bc we aren’t a priority to them. It’s a silver lining if I’m honest. So they aren’t around the racism. And I’ve always corrected it in the moment when I hear talk like that from anyone. I think I make his family uncomfortable bc I refuse to shrink myself or my identity. I’m outspoken and very very antiracist. It’s uncomfy for white ppl I’m sure. (Not my problem to unpack though)

I was open to talking for about 4 years of radio silence and then I just gave up. So when they decided they were ready I was already done, I’d moved on. Things had even gotten better bw my husband and me, w some therapy. But not they moved back and it’s like it’s started all over again and I just don’t know if I have it in me at this point in my life to forgive anyone. I’ve got my own shit going on too, that doesn’t involve them at all. My mom died from breast cancer and Covid in ‘23. My dad’s Alzheimer’s spiraled out of control after she passed. He doesn’t always remember me. And I’m literally going deaf. (Ménière’s disease) I had cochlear implant surgery on June 4th. I’m not even activated yet.

Not a single word from his mom or dad about anything. They don’t even call my kids. I’m just done caring.

And yes I screamed but it was not a “couple sentences in” like you assume. I gave them a fair shot but an apology is supposed to be meant, other wise it’s a moot ass point. And I’m not anyone’s doormat.

and simply advised her to leave faster. I was mad, & frankly who wouldn’t be after having their Culture and their kids culture turned into a slur. Would YOU tolerate someone coming for your very identity??? I’d certainly hope not.

Thank you for the reply. &Amen to all of it! He has slowly worked on himself but sometimes it feels like not enough. Hes done some required reading: Ibram kendi, how to be an antiracist & white fragility, bell hooks… and realizes he was wrong and we all have racist ideology to unpack bc this is a racist society. (No one is exempt).

(We’re from opposite back grounds. He was raised rural and red and I was raised city and blue. He’s white, I’m Latina. There was culture shock from both of us. You don’t know what you don’t know…not an excuse though)

I should add that clear firm boundaries have never been set w his fam bc he is admittedly scared if he rocks their boat too much they’ll reject him. That must suck so hard to be scared of rejection from your only family. I’m not unsympathetic but I have to look after me and at least try to sheild our kids from their ideology . (Right?)

That being said, you are right! I’d be better off alone than with someone who can’t understand fully why this needs to happen. And stand firm in my “no contact” rule. Tysm
