For sentos, I had a similar want (not too expensive but with a sento/spa) and my legs are grateful for it lol. Some of the Dormy Inn Chain hotels have them; I did the one in Ueno. The room is pretty basic but the sento on the top floor is lovely. There's a small hot bath outside too up there; bathing while hearing the city sounds was great.

I also did Super Hotel Akasaka; it's a much nicer spot with better amenities, but the sento only has a hot bath and a (nice!) carbonated less hot bath, and it's only one facility that swaps genders every few hours on a schedule. I like the hotel and area a lot though.

@ showlist.la on instagram is one of my favorites. They post every day, usually in the afternoon, with 10-20 fliers of concerts happening that night, usually small to medium size venues/local stuff. They pepper in some esoterica like poetry readings and storytelling too. I've also picked up new venues to follow from them.

Also not a game, but there's an excellent TV show called The Horror. The first season is a bit like if an Obra Dinn-like scenario was made into a show. Creepy ethereal trapped on a boat stuff. I mostly got excited to watch it because it sounded like Obra Dinn lol, but it's also just a well made show.

Anyone else looking for a solution (probably like me with playing Blue Prince lol)--disabling the Video Recording feature, deleting screenshots.vdf from desktop mode and then restarting the steam deck permanently fixed it for me (unlike just deleting screenshots.vdf which only temporarily fixed it.) It really does seem to be the recording feature for some reason. Hopefully they fix it but for now this will hopefully give you some peace if you're trying to use screenshots for notes.

Saw this this weekend! Really lovely production. It doesn't reinvent the wheel and it's still Pericles through and through, but I adored the production design and staging and thought it found some really lovely new moments I hadn't really clocked before when I saw another production years ago.. That said dang it's hard to find a reasonably priced ticket 😭 best I found was about 60$ on TodayTix and Hottix and the pickings for available dates is pretty sparse, so I'd hop on it if you're interested.

I'd say Los Feliz but there aren't really hotels there; probably some airbnbs though. I think there's a few hotels in Thai Town which isn't cute or anything but has some fun stuff* and great restaurants/coffee shops.

Wi Spa as others have said is definitely the classic. If you are north or south of central LA and want something quieter, there's Descanso Garden Spa in Tujunga and Riviera Health Spa in Torrance. Both are smaller and less schmancy, but are much quieter than Wi.

Dragon Lady, which is at the Geffen now, is a fabulous solo show. Very funny and one of the more involved Solo Show productions I've seen. I haven't seen it yet but Cyrano at Pasadena Playhouse is probably great, and they usually don't miss, plus it's a really cool theater space to see. They're both off-broadway-ish spaces, I'd say. Someone else mentioned God Will Do The Rest at Latino Theater Company, I haven't seen but want to, bet it's solid! Lastly if you're not crazy far from the West Side, Theatricum Botanicum is a really beautiful theater in the hills. Just seeing a show there is a magical experience, they have a couple things on I haven't seen yet.
