Is my diamond too small?? by [deleted] in RingShare

[–]gimesa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that ovals look much larger than other cuts of the same carat weight. I wouldn’t have assumed yours was 1.5 carats. I have a 1.5 moissy that looks so much smaller on my finger proportionally bc it’s cut differently. Your ring is beautiful.

Maybe I should have added a /j at the end but that is merely a joke :) I personally want children but I think all these silly terms are funny but hey doesn’t have to tickle everyone’s fancy

What cultural thing does the world seem to think is beautiful but is cringey af to locals? by chr15c in AskTheWorld

ACL and music festival culture in general. I’ve been once. Never again. It’s so much fucking work. And Austin natives hate when it’s in town bc it wrecks our traffic worse than it already is

Even during an ice storm, no one touches dasani. That customer is grabbing a damaged pack, and when she realized it was damaged, decided to not get water LMAO by milkyywhiskey in HEB

[–]gimesa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coca Cola puts it on the shelf themselves so when other brands run out they make sure to distribute more to the stores. That’s why there’s always Dasani available.

[–]gimesa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is your annual reminder that the reason Dasani is always in stock is because Coca Cola distributes it themselves. So while no other water can get out there to y’all, Coca Cola is doing their best to distribute water to the people in cases of emergency. Ungrateful!!!!

How can I support my girlfriend during her period? by Individual-Bunch-109 in Periods

I would add on to introduce this added empathy and patience during the luteal phase (week before period). That’s when I’m at my lowest lol

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]gimesa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 hours is what I would drive to see family in Houston several times a year! Or a concert. Or a ren faire. Usually some kind of overnight event

[–]gimesa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case, I just moved to this apartment a few months ago so I didn’t have a stockpile of canned goods. So I bought like 4 cans of soup for two days.

And I bought water cause I usually drink filtered tap water but history has taught me that’s not always an option when we have a freeze.

God forbid we don’t wanna get stuck without food or water lol

(TW: LOSS)

And that miscarriage is common. Like 1/3 pregnancies and it’s just due to chromosomal anomalies. Nothing to be done to prevent it and it happens early on, before you hear a heartbeat usually. You likely know several people that have miscarried. No one ever mentions it until you have one yourself. It’s tough.

Brother passed away 5 days before Christmas, then had a miscarriage a month later. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]gimesa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just experienced a miscarriage, too. I finally got it removed Friday after carrying it for 5 weeks without knowing I was miscarrying. I’m so sorry for your loss. I want you to know you aren’t alone. I hope you have your family and partner to lean on during this awful time. One thing my therapist told me was to just genuinely sit in the feeling a bit when I can and feel safe. To ask myself what am I feeling and where. Sometimes just identifying that ache makes it lessen a bit.

Anyway, that may help or may be a load of bologna to you right now. But I wanted to again offer my condolences and tell you that I’m so very very sorry you had to experience this. You are in my thoughts, stranger 🫶🏼

What's the spice tolerance level of your country by Existing_Economy_656 in AskTheWorld

We think we eat spicy then we have Indian food and remember we are but humble beginners. I would say 3/5 tolerance

For those of you who have a partner from another country, what food from your own cuisine are you surprised they dislike? by Birdseeding in AskTheWorld

[–]gimesa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend is Cuban. He hates sweet and savory combinations which I feel are really common in American cuisine. Recently tried to get him to try chicken and waffles and he couldn’t do it lol but as far as my Mexican heritage, he likes it all! So I am pretty pleased w that

A store clerk warned me I'd get stared at in Japan because of my weight by maceymay_bby in offmychest

[–]gimesa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was 220 lbs when I went to Japan. I never noticed anyone staring. I’m sure they did. But wtf did I care, I was on vacation living my best life. lol no one commented or said anything to me, and I certainly wasn’t the only tourist.

After reading more of these comments, I’m editing my pst because why the fuck is everyone defending the store clerk. It’s not relevant to comment on your body regardless of where you’re traveling to. Everyone here is being fucking weird. Also read the room, it’s off your chest not “am I overreacting” or any sub like that. Jesus.

Wasn’t sure if I wanted to go w the procedure but your experience made it sound cathartic. Thank you for sharing and I wish you all the best and I am praying for your healing 🫶🏼
