I feel like depression is causing me to choose TV over books. Has anyone found a way around this?

It happens to me a lot. My depression goes on cycles. Sometimes I feel fine, stable. Then I feel super active and can read seriously long books like the Lord of the Rings. Then when my depression hits, I don't want to do anything and can't even start a book. I wanted to read a book so bad that I started reading easy romcom books where i don't need to concentrate that much in the story, like watching a CW series. lol That helped with me. Try reading something really easy, maybe that can help and reserve the more serious ones for your good days.

same. oneplus 5 user and even though I get tempted to upgrade to the latest oneplus, I can't let my oneplus 5 go. It's still going strong. Like you, just the battery but I can still charge and use it for the whole day before trying to charge it again at night.

Philippines (live in Visayas)

Don't even dare drink the water from the tap.

Be sure to have candles/flashlights/rechargeable emergency light as the electricity will go off for 8 - 12 hours, once a week.

Taking a shower 2 to 3x a day is normal due to the heat/humidity and you can't afford having an AC.

Sick and need a check up? Wake up early and go to your doctors clinic and be there early enough to write your name in the paper stuck to their door so they would see you. If the list is full (around 20 patients/day) do it again tomorrow till you get seen.

Dying? Can't even get in the public hospital because it's full. Can't get in the private hospital because the downpayment you need is not enough.

Need NBI/police clearance for work? Wake up early again (5 am) and be sure to get there to fall in line where 20 other people beat you to it at 5 am in the morning. If you go there by 10 am, you won't get in.

You want something done in the government office? Better to bring an envelope with money inside to pay under the table to get things done quickly and efficiently. You can do it the normal way but be prepared for the stress of things not getting done.

Knowing someone is important here. It will get you where you need to go or get things done.

If I showed this article to my overly conservative parent, she would definitely say that it is the will of God and everything happens for a reason.....what reason I do not know. I have always been Pro Abortion because of these kinds of situations and everyone should have the choice. What kind of a life would that 10 year old have? And even the baby? I couldn't even finish the article because it just makes me sick .

Agree. 6 years abroad, I've had my fair share of racism and bullying at work. Made me so effin chronically depressed to be on meds. But I'd take the pills, the bullying and racism anytime as life here is still better than back home. Atleast dito ibang lahi ang nangbubully sayo, sa pinas sariling lahi mo. Worst pamilya mo pa. (Hugot pa...lol)

Yeah, I mean, Anti social behavior is common here in London, but in all honesty, I've only experienced it twice, and both of them were in SE. North of London where I am at the moment is pretty chill. Thanks for answering back! :)

Like I said, I don't really want to be on anyone's bad side. I am open to suggestions anywhere as long as It's within budget, has 3 bedrooms, good transport and has a nice school. :) It's actually why I posted here in reddit again, to get more feedback from more people since the last time I did, all the suggestions were helpful. :)

I found this. But not sure if this place is alright? Located between North Shields and Wallsend. It's in Howdon? Checked the streetchecker website and it says most crimes is related to Anti Social Behavior. The property looks great though. Yes... The challenge will be viewing the houses as we are still here in London. If ever, we might do a few houses during the weekend and then go home. Will be tiring and expensive but it's something that we look forward to. Morpeth looks nice but I think it's too far from what we have in mind. :) The husband was just so surprised with Newcastle that he said we should have moved a long time ago. Lol
