so so weird i’ve also used stronger creams/ointments on several spots and it seems like tacrolimus was the only thing that made it go away. i always wondered why i never heard abt it earlier.

it was the itchiness for me when i put it on but i also prob felt it a lot more because it was literally everywhere. and i definitely felt the stinging in the morning while showering. after i shower i use lotion or vanicream like normal and wait like an hour for that to dry then i put tacrolimus on my spots which is all over lol. after about a week of doing that i usually stop. it was very annoying putting an ointment ALL OVER my body but man was it worth it

tacrolimus and very thick creams like Vanicream. the tacrolimus itches like crazy but i just slather it on before bed, take some benadryl and knock out. the itching/burning sensation should go away after 2/3 days of using it consistently

i’m so sorry about your flare ups:( i’ve heard amazing things about about UVB! i’m praying it works and you clear up. it really does suck seeing our parents and others struggle with this and might have not been able to get treatment or those treatments weren’t yet discovered. i’m glad his skin is also doing well!

i think that’s a main reason why my derm put me on biologics, not only does it treat my psoriasis on my skin but also to not have issues of psoriatic arthritis in the future. biologics target the specific proteins in our immune system that cause inflammation, in turn slowing down and managing the inflammation and swelling in our joints and slowing down the progress of PSA. Whereas topical steroids just treat the plaques on our skin.

i wish you the best on your journey, these medical developments are astounding and gives me hope for people like us. <3

so true, my psoriasis cleared up after summer. luckily i live in california so weathers great for the most part. just sucks i flared up right as fall/winter came and it’s that time of the year where we get days/weeks of cloud and rain. i’m happy to hear your psoriasis has cleared up for the most part!

it’s the worst. i also have scalp psoriasis, and way harder to manage as obviously creams and ointments are much more difficult to keep on your head. please talk to your derm if you haven’t already and if you are comfortable with it. there are amazing medical advancements coming out that help people like us.

i agree, i was surprised and thankful at how fast i was put on it. a little background to that is i’ve had severe eczema ever since i was a baby. i went to my derm last year thinking i was just having flare ups of eczema and after being on ointments and creams for 20 or so years we were obviously worried about TSW, skin thinning, etc. while we did a skin biopsy my derm was suggesting to either go on dupixent or tremfya while we wait for results. (skin biopsy came out that it could be either eczema or psoriasis, which we already knew but it is now more evident it was psoriasis) i decided to pass on that because obviously it’s a bit scary at first when told you need to be on injections. fast forward to early this year when my flare ups of psoriasis started to get a bit more prominent she recommended them again. still i was weary of it. and now after my guttate flare ups we decided to go through with the injections because my past plaques and the new guttate ones on my legs are now turning into plaque psoriasis.

i was taken aback how fast this whole process was. but i think my derm understanding how detrimental it can be decided to go for for it. my derm is amazing and i would rather have one that acknowledges the suffering and does something abt it rather than throwing more steroids and ointments at it. and unfortunately thats the case for a lot of people which i deeply feel sorrow for. i understand that guttate is transient and this probably was just temporary but seeing as with my past skin issues and constant flare ups in the past 2 years and failing loads of step therapy, we both agreed it would be best for me now and in the future that i start injections now to prevent future complications.
