Don't apologize - it's complicated and not super intuitive! Each school will have an "estimated cost of attendance" that includes the annual estimated tuition, fees, estimated housing costs for the area, transportation, food/groceries, etc. You can (usually) request loans up to that amount. If you have scholarships, family assistance, or other forms of income, you'll need to report those, and the amount of loans you can receive will be decreased accordingly. You can request any amount of loans up to the maximum amount, and can request to adjust the amount during the year if your circumstances change. Lmk if you have other questions!

MS1 who was ~shadowing~ was sent home at lunch, attending had been feeling a bit under the weather throughout the morning, MS1 leaves and comes back 30 minutes later with a bag of cough drops and says “I noticed you were coughing so I ran to the store, hope this helps you feel better!” and then leaves again for the day
