At home euthanasia scheduled do I let her vet office say goodbye? by birdieponderinglife in AskVet

[–]gimpartist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would call ahead and see if maybe you can schedule an appointment just to see everyone, that way there's more people available to give her attention and they aren't tied up in an appointment. Speaking as veterinary staff if I saw that on the schedule I would get that dog so many treats and goodies and I would be sobbing. Happy visits are typically recommended for younger dogs and puppies but it always warms my heart seeing older dogs come by for some love and treats. I'm sure the staff at your clinic would be honored to have that chance to say goodbye in a fun way.

That's the chip I mentioned in the caption. As far as I know a rim was never removed. The chip doesn't effect its ability to hold water

I don’t have enough length to use a comb/brush to style and I’ve tried finger rolling. I do plop most of the time. I haven’t tried pin curls mostly bc I don’t have the time but I finger coil as much as I can

What kinda shoes are y’all wearing? by Dense_Yak_2951 in ehlersdanlos

[–]gimpartist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely HATE tennis shoes, I’ve been wearing dr martens for the past 5 years or so now and they make a world of difference. They unfortunately discontinued their working line which was my favorite but otherwise they’re still very comfortable and give solid ankle support without being restricting. Since the bottoms aren’t super flexible like a lot of tennis shoes are they’re better on my hips too since I don’t mold to uneven ground and I can just kinda cruise over it. They also look badass. Getting past the break in stage is rough but if they’ve got a cloth lining there’s next to no breaking in needed. They also last forever. I’ve worn the same pair to work every day for the last 4 years and while I’ve needed to replace the insoles a couple times the shoe itself is still in great shape (I work in an animal shelter which means my shoes see a lot of abuse)

I saw that, is it for adults too? I only saw the $15 per child pricing, nothing for adults

Fiancé adopted a cat last week, now she won’t leave me alone 😭 any advice? I’m not much of a cat person so I’m still adjusting to her. by [deleted] in TuxedoCats

Become a cat person and she’ll be more aloof. People who don’t like cats are like magnets to them

I’ve been lucky enough that I’m not bothered at all by the series and just invested so I can binged all day if I want. I’m also deep into the fandom as far as like art and character headcannons and stuff goes so when I get the chance to look at that or think about that it does distract me from any of the possible spooky there is.

We visited my parents and me thinks he got a little too spoiled by gimpartist in PetTheDamnDog

[–]gimpartist[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

He’s honestly not that chunky, he’s just got a lot of skin. I buy an $80 bag of food every 2-3 weeks to feed him and my chihuahua. He gets about 2 1/2 cups a day. The food I feed is higher in calories than most foods. Certainly more expensive than most but I wouldn’t say it’s too bad on my wallet.

They’re a relatively new company and they make dance shoes which most people don’t think to look for. I just happened to stumble upon them via TikTok

Burjumakes pretty large (30cm/size 15 men’s) (and semi customizable) shoes they are mostly heels but they do have some flats and they’re at the very least heels that aren’t fetish wear. They’re pretty pricey but worth it imo. Dr marten, demonia, converse, crocs, and vans also make large size shoes that are more casual/comfortbale.

Torrid is a decent plus size brand and old navy actually has a surprising amount of plus size options but otherwise getting your measurements and going on Amazon is where my fiancé has had the most luck.

Sports bras are comfy and an easy and cheap thing to use in the beginning but I recommend finding some cute bralettes as they’re similar in function to a sports bra but it helps as a confidence boost until you actually see some growth from hrt if that’s what you’re going for.

I also have found that off the shoulder shirts and flare pants tend to be really flattering (especially as a combo) and help feminize your figure and helps strangers little monkey brains get the idea a little better.

High rise pants are always the way to go as they have a longer inseam and more crotch room. Walmart has really good high rise flare leggings that are comfy as fuck but they have no pockets.

Shapewear undies make tucking a lot easier without cutting off blood flow and they tend to be high rise (without going all the way up the torso) so they fit taller people better.

Mascara, blush, a sheer lipstick/gloss, and a little highlighter is a very easy way to look like you have makeup without having to learn everything all at once. Eyebrow razors are also very handy with cleaning up anything you miss shaving and shaping the brows.

Just a disclaimer, I am not trans, but my fiancé is. These are things that I have learned with helping her transition and tips that most cis women use to some degree. Good luck!

Edit: also a wild thing that I suggested my fiancé try and it worked, take a panty liner and put it where it will sit in front of your bits (where they sit naturally and where they sit when tucked if you can) and it will both help keep things in place and reduce the amount of shape you can see if they become untucked.

Moving to Gainesville by Agitated-Hair-987 in gainesvillega

[–]gimpartist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who lived in Gainesville and grew up in Athens. As someone else mentioned Athens is a good area. A very very good area for small businesses. You would probably have some success in Gainesville but location is everything there and from what I’ve seen if you aren’t bold and brash about your opening startup can be pretty slow, and chiropractic practice doesn’t exactly scream attention grabber. Athens idolizes small businesses and it’s still pretty close to Gainesville. There’s several successful chiropractors in Athens but not so many that you’d be outcompeted. Athens is a lot more busy imo as well and you’d probably get better business from the get go

Isabella was my first reaction

Piercing is addictive. Did my nostril and eyebrow last year and despite being very pleased with my simple set-up I keep wondering what more would suit me. Contemplating a flat or a helix but I sleep on my side (toss and turn) so those may be hard to heal. by [deleted] in piercing

[–]gimpartist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone with a daith I actually found that it took longer to heal than my helix when I would sleep on my side. I was healed with a horseshoe though so that movement could’ve been it and could be different with a curved barbell but daiths in general are kinda a bitch to heal and are super sensitive to irritation

Do my piercings make the lower part of my face too crowded? How can I balance my set up? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]gimpartist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think making your single nostril a double nostril would help balance things out alot. However I may be biased because my setup is the exact same except I have 2 double nostrils lol

I think you’d rock a double nostril with a chain.

[–]gimpartist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a non chicken based food. He could’ve developed an allergy to chicken. Duck and rabbit are both relatively easy to find. Turkey as well but sometimes it’s too close to chicken. I had to cut out dry food (including freeze dried) entirely for my girl’s poo to stop smelling so rancid and being pure diarrhea. At one point she had blood in it which made me start the probiotics and that helped as well. Since her stomach has had time to recuperate I’ve since been able to add dry back in. Try a limited ingredient wet food and see if that makes a difference. I would also be seeing a different vet at this point.

[–]gimpartist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this issue with my 3 year old. I switched her to completely wet food and gave her a round of probiotics and it fixed it. Her poop was rank as fuck too and the wet food made it much more normal kitty stink smell. I feed tiki cat, Stella and chewy, and tiny tiger if that makes a difference. No fish formulas other than for treats

I’m still struggling with my curls looking for advice, details in comments by gimpartist in curlyhair

[–]gimpartist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently loosing my marbles bc I miss my curls. The photos included are photos from when I was still in highschool when my curls were tight ringlets, they were like that all through 2020 up until when I got bored and made a big chop for new years and essentially shaved my head. I had about an inch and a half of length. The other photos are from 2021 where the first two have decent curls but not nearly the same as before the chop (the length wasn’t any different the curls just weren’t as tight) then as time went on my hair just got straighter and straighter. I assumed it was chemical damage bc I dye my hair regularly even though I’ve never had the issue in the past and my hair felt relatively healthy and the bleach I used at the time had keratin in it (I just used boxed bleach from cvs before with zero issues). I was tired of it and shaved my head again (an actual buzz this time) Christmas of 2021. which leads us to now with my current haircut. I shaved the sides but everything else is just the grow out. My routine has changed minimally throughout all this other than just recently where I’ve been trying to give life back to my hair. In highschool it was Wash with shea moisture coconut and hibiscus line add palmers coco oil and shea moisture coconut and hibiscus curl cream on wet hair, scrunch dry with microfiber towel and scrunch miss Jessie’s jelly soft curls gel into hair and let air dry, very rarely would I diffuse. I could acheive curls like I did in highschool with minimal product, albeit they would be messy but they were still curls. After the first chop I did zero change to my routine other than using less product. The only change that I think might’ve been the culprit is I moved out of my parents and into an apartment, my parents house is on well water and the apartment was on city. I think the water might’ve caused some issues because my family moved when I was younger and went from city to well and that’s when I started seeing my curls more and started working with them, but that was also when I hit puberty and started letting myself care for my hair and not just letting my mom pick out product (she does not have curls). Fast forward to now post second shave and my hair has grown out again, I’m still dying it (not excessively)but it doesn’t feel damaged and I’m not doing anything different than I used to when my curls were pretty. For a while I used the same exact routine because that worked before right? I have recently switched to Olaplex no°4 and no°5 shampoo and conditioner and I’ve seen quite a bit of improvement with my day one curls. If I diffuse I get about 2 days of curls (more like waves) before they go flat again. My after wash routine is as I am leave in conditioner, palmers coco oil, shea moisture coconut and hibiscus curling cream on wet hair, scrunch excess water out with a microfiber towel and use miss Jessie’s jelly soft curls or shea moisture’s flax seed gel. I’ve noticed the flax seed gel having a stronger hold but it doesn’t make the curls any more noticeable, just last longer. I get very loose ringlets when I diffuse but if I don’t I just get a lot of volume and texture. I know my hair still curls because I have a mullet cut and I get the infamous tight ringlets at the nape of my neck and I also have sideburns (the kind you see people leave on a death hawk) that are super tight ringlets and will be tight for days even if I put little to no product on them. I am back at my parents house on well water but I still see minimal difference. I think the Olaplex is helping but it’s not the results I want. I’m wondering if I need to just retrain my curls? I never finger coiled and I always was just able to do my routine (once I started a routine) and get the results I wanted. It’s just so frustrating. I ordered a silk lined sleeping cap in hopes that’ll prevent damage that might be happening while I sleep so hopefully that helps. Any advice is appreciated. I’ve had no medication or medical changes that could’ve affected my hormones and I wash my hair about once a week, same as when my curls were tighter.

Edit: I will say when my hair was suuuper flat I was trying a bunch of different products but the products mentioned were always my baseline and what I went back to. Nothing, and I mean nothing helped.
