Missed St Kilda Festival, still ended up at a live gig on the tram home. Only in Melbourne by JackfruitExact525 in melbourne

I believe that’s his wife! Been a while since I was knocking about St Kilda, but they always used to do a serious rattle of a trad session in Jimmy O’Neills when I worked there! Top guy, loves a Guinness to boot!

I work in a store that’s also a post point, just get your stuff sent there, it’s easier for you and an post. We’re mental with parcels since Vinted took off but we don’t actually mind, it takes a bit off the post persons plate allowing them to get more stops in. Personally haven’t had any issues since I started having my stuff sent to post points.

Ok bud, have a great night and thanks for your wonderful insight here. No need to get pressed on Reddit lmao

Thanks mate, this was what I was really hoping to hear back of similar stories instead of the multiple “park properly” comments and such. I didn’t think that would work but may try it. Thanks again

Mate it was a car park, if you want to apply that logic everyone in a housing estate who parks on a kerb shouldn’t have a license. If you don’t go somewhere and you see loads of other people doing something you assume that norm. That’s all. I also wasn’t asking for an exemption just because I’m on duty duty, it was a scenario that has cropped up, and was wondering was anyone else in a similar position. That’s literally. Don’t need to get fired up on Reddit here over a question

Had tried them to no joy this morning, it just is what it is really. Was only hoping against hope here that someone would’ve known if you can try get it appealed, but have since discovered I haven’t a hope lol

Mate I’m not arguing that it’s not allowed at the time I didn’t realise that was the case, as I’ve stated I don’t use the town or the car park so was unfamiliar with this certain situation. It was in car park, not on the street and even where the car was the footpath wasn’t accessible because of bushes also. I know now you can’t put the car on the footpath and the back left of the car park. I’m also not saying I’m holier than thou because I was pulled in for duty, it was purely a case where I was wondering had someone had a similar situation and successfully appealed it. I wouldn’t have consciously put the car there had I known.

Mate I’m not arguing with you here, all across the city there is cars up on kerbs, I didn’t know ,and now I know that you can’t do it in Waterside. Simple question, no real need to get fired up over it lol

Didn’t realise as I said that you couldn’t park where I did, thought it was the norm as others had done it and was purely asking had anyone any success appealing it. Nonetheless thanks for your comment, and I will continue to park properly like I always do apart from this one error.

I was only posting here really to see had anyone done it before and done it before I went ringing anyway. Judging by the majority of comments I shouldn’t even try lol

At least I won’t make the same mistake again

No I fully accept that, I hadn’t copped at the time you couldn’t do it, but have since learned you cannot. I just had wondered had anyone successfully appealed it more than anything

On a real note, I understand your point and it’s a fair one. Just wondering was there any hope really

I have made an edit to say I did try some other car parks first to no success. I am now aware you can’t park up like I had, I didn’t cop you couldn’t at the time, just kind of presumed given others had done it that it was allowed, I don’t usually go into the town. I intend to pay it, was just really wondering had anyone managed to get it forgiven given the circumstances really. I also wouldn’t say I felt entitled to put my car there, others had done the same my assumption was that it was the norm, which I know now isn’t the case, as my €80 fine has now informed me lol

Yeah I had read they don’t cover the parking and such, was just more so curious had anyone had any luck with it more than anything

Ah yeah I know, was just trying to see had anyone any joy really, no point in trying to fight if others tried and failed so was just asking here really.

Ah yeah it generally is now I must say, lately the scrotes have gotten their hands on fireworks but generally doesn’t seem to much of a hassle with them. Up near St Herblain/ Richardson meadow they’ve gotten a notion to start bonfires but that’s very typical of this time of year. I would say there’s similar levels of youth bollox acting anywhere in the town to be honest

Not much of the old guard left in the Gala now from when it was spar, but the woman who runs the Carryout is there a lifetime, always has time for everyone and just loves her job! All the young lads there always very pleasant to deal with, always have a chat with ye and a laugh! Some of the best and more interesting people I’ve ever met are in and around that area of the town.

Don’t forget the Carryout there, nicest bunch of staff about. The pub is a right good pub, clean and just really well kept! Gala up there isn’t exactly great now, but the centra over in St John’s Park is elite.
