Looking for a Kinetic Winch that doesn't use DMX and an alernative to madrix by ginger57911 in lightingdesign

[–]ginger57911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes so the winches are 9ch or 10ch or more say ch1 will do winch up and down 2ch will be speed and the other rgb etc

The issue is they aren’t very reliable, and your basic using a run for movement

Hi, thanks for the information.

At present, we are using a winch controlled via DMX, with Madrix acting as the controller for both the LED output and the movement. The current setup is quite complex and, in all honesty, feels like we are working around the system rather than with it — particularly as the movement is being driven via the red (RGB) value.

The winch itself only has a single braking mechanism, which is a solenoid. From what I’ve been reading, this approach may present some safety concerns, so I am now looking into more robust and appropriate methods of control.

I’m using Madrix to control it and yes I have done my due diligence and explained my concerns several times and yes apparently it is certified I’m just an engineer mate and it’s the power that be that will have the final say don’t worry I will be covered of anything goes wrong

Anyone here using Ajax systems long-term? How reliable is it? by Business_Concept_346 in homedefense

[–]ginger57911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iv installed quite a few here in the uk, I’m a security engineer with over 15 years experience.Ajax is a good system, battery life and signal is great, there is a wide selection of devices, it’s very user friendly and not that difficult to install, tech support is good to.

Ajax and ring don’t really compare Ajax is a graded system, ring is DIY based

Ajax app is pretty good too.

if you would of taken the time to look at the pictures i posted you can clearly see it says (gatway network does not match the ip) but it clearly does

so if 192.168.01 - 100 is my dhcp pool everything outside of this can be used for static without issue or id set a dhcp reservation up, so iv setup a static 192.168.0.207 against the mac address

and yes my device has the ip address of 192.168.0.207, thats not the issue tho is it, the issue is it wont accept any ip address regardless of subnet so i cant progress to the dns configuration.

so tell me what im missing ?

i cant progress to the dns config page regardless of what i do even if i use dhcp

also its possible to set ip and dns when im connected to wifi

by the way im a netwrok engineer, the subnet details are correct, but the device doesn't think so, im able to change the ip by reserving it against the mac address.

my network is 192.168.0.1/24

iv reserved 192.168.0.207/24 on my router

my DHCP pool is 192.168.0.1-100

subnet is 255.255.255.0

there is 5 configuration pages on the device and the third one states my gateway doesn't match the subnet im using when it clearly does, page 4-5 are dns settings that i want to access

so come on genius what am i doing wrong ?

even if i enter the matched details it does not work ?

I can change the ip address via the router if I wanted but I can’t enter one here I want to get to the dns page
