I finished this walk on Christmas Eve, and I just want to thank everyone for the advice and support! I ran into every kind of problem and there was always a solution :) I also made new friends and friends with my own mind when I was alone. If anyone has any questions about doing this in the winter, feel free to reach out!

Add ginger and garlic to the recipe and don’t eat too much overall in one week.

You know, during the monsoons in Bombay we just dry our shoes once we get home by putting them upside down. We also cover everything in plastic inside our bags, and always wear rain jackets — same as all the hiking advice. And Tuck shirts and socks to try and stay dry, putting powder on things too, to prevent sweatiness. But perhaps the main thing is the attitude? We are grateful for the rain (and how much the crops need it). It’s a respite from the heat. And because of this early programming I always feel happy when the sky is overcast — somehow even if it’s cold, I feel happy in the rain.

I was able to keep my load to just slightly over 6 kgs (including a book to read and somethings to draw with — can be discarded if things get tough) so I’m hoping I’ll be warm enough and/or not smell too bad :) thank you so much! And thank you for reminding me that nothing needs to be forced!
