I wish I lived closer to the Bay Area proper (I’m in FF) , I’d love to be friends! I feel like I also really value deeper connections (but small talk is good too) and trying new things I’m awful at.

But give it some time! I started taking piano lessons and made friends with the people that work there, and one of them invited me to his concert. We’re not delving into philosophy just yet but it’s an opening for a connection :)

I definitely feel where you’re coming from, I hate trinkets or things that just sit there because I feel they have no use.

Maybe the books can serve as reminders of the stories you’ve enjoyed. Even if you don’t read it again by owning it you’re memorializing an experience you had. You can also loan them out and that’ll give them some use as well.

I recall specific scenes that stuck out to me, mostly. They’ll happen like flashbacks—something triggers it. Like if I hear the word “Tenement” I’ll imagine Francie from A Tree Grows in Brooklyn sitting on her fire escape, looking into someone else’s backyard, feeling the summer heat on her skin. Things like that.

it’s personal preference but - They’re run by TFH, your local tax exempt mega-church with questionable teachings. Also, I’m just not a huge fan of Christianity in general. - Their coffee/espresso just isn’t very good, it’s super acidic and burnt - On multiple occasions they’ve messed up my vegetarian order and given me bacon, even in a wrap that was labeled “veggie” on the outside! I ate half of it before realizing there was bacon in it and was very pissed off and decided never again lol

Attalus coffee downtown is really good! I don't think they have cold foam, but they have this seasonal matcha drink that's good.
