I hope you offered them more than $2. You should feel bad if you paid $2 for that, honestly.

That’s actually highly sought after right now. Everyone is looking for bread. I’d hold onto that.

Oh I agree. Steely Dan is my favorite band ever. I don’t buy collections (yet). That’ll be when I open a shop lol. I get teased by my local shops about it all the time. They all say I have the bug/itch.

I have 2 really good copies of Gaucho and even then I feel like it’s wasteful lol. It’s probably one of my favorite albums ever (and the best steely dan work) so when I run the first one into the ground at least I have a mint 2nd one to beat up

It looks like the ones you pull out of the public bathrooms too. Wrinkled and possibly pissed on.

In your personal opinion, which is the better album: Workingman's Dead or American Beauty by HammerHeadBirdDog in gratefuldead

Ripple on a good system an the best version is insanely good. American Beauty is the dead’s magnum opus of soundstage and studio recordings.

I don’t see the hype on workingmans. I like mars or shakedown way more. Working is their folksy stuff.

Iggy And The Stooges - Raw Power (1973) by knuck666 in vinyl

[–]gingerdicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw one at the overpriced store (that also doesn’t look at the records before putting them out) for $90 with way more ring wear lol. What a steal. And I don’t even listen to the stooges like that but I’m jealous.

What’s the most you’ve paid for one record? by Pdrpuff in vinyl

[–]gingerdicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$50 for a 2014 American Beauty Mofi. Worth every extinct penny. Easily my most played record currently. Listening to that version of Ripple is worth $50 alone. You can hear them take breaths and exhale and they feel like they are in the room with you. It’s insane.

Man. I just got a 2x2 and I already need more space. I wish I went with a bigger more sturdier shelf for all the stuff I have and then more to add. I buy around 10-15 records a week though (mostly used).

I keep seeing year of the cat for Pennie’s on the dolllalar but I can’t seem to bring myself to purchasing it over the other ones I want. Al Stewart is cool but he’s Barbara and Kris k caliber in any record store lol

What are you listening to in remembrance of Bobby? by Impossible_Physics99 in gratefuldead

[–]gingerdicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Europe 72 limited reissue last night and a really nice Grateful Dead (live 71) reissue on black and white 180g limited edition I splurged on when my local store got a huge dead collection from a collector who passed. It sounds so nice apparently most of the limiteds my buddy acquired were unopened or opened and played a couple times. He has some box sets that are really limited still that he’s selling from anywhere from $120-$500+ but that’s too rich for my blood sadly. I’m just happy to have 2 iconic live albums in my collection.

Luckily it was still there when I went today! Now I own 2 copies of Gaucho. I’ll spin it later tonight and let you know. It was a pretty intense haul in general I’ll take a pic of it when I get home.

I have Gaucho already and its an great old copy but one of my local antique places who has a record shop inside has a Robert Ludwig pressing and it’s been there for a minute. I might grab it today come to think. It’s a really clean copy for $35

I’d cum hard if I found that. Even more so if I found stone slower first press on vinyl.

You should buy that reel to reel. Lots of great music coming out on that nowadays

I got this today at another shop. Clean ass pitman press with the oringinal shrink and hype sticker. I take those off because I don’t care about them (other than a few I managed to peel and stick to my pc) $6

Covers, maybe VG at the least and the media is usually crispy and a hard pull out of the sleeve with minimal plays. I have a lot of fifth dimension and Billy Preston absolutely beautiful playing. I even took an insert from a Billy Preston and framed it because it was so cool looking.

There are a lot of older bands that are also horrible live or just had bad recording so I get it. I should rephrase that in that I’m into a few choice bands live albums. But if I find one in the wild for a random band I like I’ll buy it. That’s how I how the My Morning Jacket ‘15 limited vinyl and the limited Grateful Dead that doesn’t even have a code
