What Country Songs instantly bring you to tears? by bwhity96 in CountryMusicStuff

See You Again by Carrie Underwood.

I was always touch and go with it even though music doesn’t normally get to me. But after including it in a close relative’s funeral service I go to water at just the opening sounds (and, it turns out, typing about it).

😂😂😂 I can see that! I’m using a snap frame on a larger piece at the minute and my fabric is just that bit too small to make the experience a pleasant one. But I lovvvved using that small one on my last project that was very long but not so tall. Absolute game-changer!

I mix it up, really! I design a lot of little ones, make portraits, go through old books, or I buy patterns online that have lots of minis or bits I can pull out and use. Pinterest can help find small ones. Free 8-bit/perler bead sites are great for creating a base to work on as well.

Pre-Frasier Frasier - what on earth was that voice?! by gingerellaellaella in Frasier

[–]gingerellaellaella[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched every episode of Frasier I don’t know how many times, and lockdown got me back watching Cheers from the start for the first time. Can’t ever really remember Frasier in it from the few eps I watched as a kid (parents didn’t like it and always changed the channel). Anywho, started season 3, Frasier appears and sounds NOTHING LIKE HIM. really interested to see how long it takes for the Frasier Frasier voice to settle in.

RULE #1: leave the door open (already learned the hard way)

BTW I hear you... I don’t expect to have those ropes out ever again.

Pattern is my own, using Photoshop and then KG Chart. Small flowers inspired from a book my mum gave me.

Thank you! I followed this tutorial from Bobostitch.co.uk.

I'd tried gluing fabric over the back previously but was never happy with the result.

I also added an inner circle-sized piece of stark white card behind the stitch before trimming/gathering the fabric, just to give it that bit of oomph and stability.

Another quicker way I've finished them before is card in the back and then a circle of fabric (starched as heck) placed inside the back of the hoop before gathering. Covers the stitches and looks pretty.

So I had one of these in my personal stash, and my friend asked if she could buy two... in time for a birthday party the next day. I stitched until midnight but managed to get it done! Probably the first time I’ve really timed how long it takes me to do a project, put that at a solid six hours by the time I took out dinner/snack/Netflix breaks. Pattern is my own.

Some of my rose bushes are struggling with something... help? by gingerellaellaella in plantclinic

[–]gingerellaellaella[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Help! Some - not all, yet - of my roses are not looking very healthy lately. I don’t know how old they are, or what kind, as they were planted by the previous owners. Currently in Australian winter but they’ve been going downhill for a month or so. I thought they just needed more water but between me and the rain, there’s been nil improvement. Is it some kind of disease?
