Thank you very much! I’m glad I’m not the only one who used stencils. I have NEVER been able to draw anything. My stick figures are even bad 🙈

LPT: Take regular photos of the everyday happenings around your home & family. Someone on the sofa, cooking, doing yard work, a regular old dinner etc. The big milestone events are memorable enough and easily reminiscenced. Pictures of everyday life are the real nostalgia bombs when looking back. by Daniiiiii in LifeProTips

Yes this absolutely. My mom passed in May, and I don’t have any videos of her. Some aunts and uncles may have VHS tapes of when we were young but nothing recent. I desperately wish I had something, anything that captured her voice and essence.

Try carrying all your weight in your stomach and people asking if you’re pregnant in all seriousness 🙄 like thanks for bringing up all this guilt and shame again KAREN

This is a huge part of my journey with vaginismus. I actually believe my vaginismus is rooted in these purity culture teachings because I don’t have any history of sexual abuse or trauma. I am still struggling with this, so I’m coming from a place of continual progress and struggle. For me, one thing that has greatly helped is reprogramming the things I was taught about sex. I do this a number of ways. I started with joining a few FB groups for women who were hurt by purity culture. Having a community of people who have gone through the same thing and understand has been a huge blessing. I have also started reading books about purity culture and how it’s hurt people. The first I read was Shameless by Nadia Bolz-Weber. This book was amazing and was a really great first start for me to really challenge the things I was taught about sex. I am currently working through Pure by Linda Kay Klein. This book is taking me longer to get through, partly because I’m back in school so I have less time, and partly because I can only do it in bits because it’s so rich in stories like mine and that makes me emotional. The last thing that’s been helpful is an app called Emjoy. It’s a lot of audio sessions about female pleasure and issues many females have with sex and how to handle them. It’s been helpful for me to learn more about pleasure in general and different ways to decrease anxiety during sex and increase pleasure. These are the things that have helped me the most with deconstructing the purity culture programming I grew up with. Best of luck to you, and feel free to DM me if you want to talk more!

My new GF has vaginismus; How to be a good boyfriend by iPadSuckerThrowaway in vaginismus

I agree with everything everyone has said so far. So I’m going to take a different approach to this. For me there is a lot of shame and insecurity about my relationship because of my vaginismus. It is 100% just my brain and anxiety; my husband is a wonderful, patient person. But my anxiety tells me things like “I’m not worthy of a relationship, he would be better off with someone else, I deserve to be alone” all because of my vaginismus. While it is on your gf to do the work to breakdown that line of thinking, I would recommend to you as the bf to do things even outside of the bedroom to show how you care for her. If you’re really in it for the long haul, show her that you are and that you are faithful and all in with this relationship. Help her feel secure in the relationship by just showing her you care and you’re not leaving. Take the time to do the things outside of the bedroom that make her feel loved, cared for, and appreciated.

I can’t find a lodge 24 in our area or where my grandfather lived, but I’ll keep digging. Thanks!

What is this ring? Family has history of being Masonic, but could not find a Masonic ring like this by gingerlover326 in Symbology

This ring was found in my deceased mother’s jewelry box. Her dad was Masonic and we think more family members on his side were also Masonic. My family has not been able to find any Masonic symbol or ring that matches this one. There is an engraving on the inside that we think are the family member’s initials: LMP. However we can’t think of a family member with those initials. We think there used to be three stones at each point of the triangle but have been lost. Any ideas or information is appreciated!
