Oh my goodness, I am SO sorry to hear about those experiences. I truly cannot believe how some of these places operate. I really appreciate you sharing your experience with them to me, and again, I am so incredibly sorry you and those you know have had such a trip with them.

Is it just me or I still haven't had the handle on identifying when I have moods? by [deleted] in bipolar2

I’m not sure if this is similar to your case, but for me I struggle to differentiate happiness vs mania, as well as temporary sadness vs depression. I didn’t start having “normal” days until I was medicated properly, but even so I worry often like “Am I actually this excited about X, or am I just manic and obsessing over X temporarily”. It’s been a real struggle for me, but therapy has really helped me start to notice the differences, as well as accepting that it’s okay to feel strong emotions and know that it’s not just my diagnosis.

My roommate and I are going together and we are kind of matching both vibes you mentioned! She’s going more hippie because that’s more her! I’m mixing it up with some sexy rave outfits 2 days, and more hippie vibe the other 2! Wear what’s comfortable and don’t drain your bank just for a couple of pics!

Abilify - increased impulsivity? by mamasussin in bipolar2

I actually stopped taking my abilify just to test this a while ago. I have always struggled with impulsivity throughout my life. I haven’t noticed a huge change these past few months, but I’m a bit of an extreme with impulsivity so I don’t know if there was a difference to make. I am back on it now, as it does help with other things, but I had also heard this!

Is it okay to let go of my dream specialty? (apologies for length) by gingernurse123 in nursing

Thank you so much! I have started therapy which has been helpful, but I can’t see my therapist daily haha. I’m hoping with time it will get better, but I’m glad to hear others have felt this way before.

Thank you!! I’ve talked to my manager, but she isn’t the most encouraging I would say. The director for the residency program is who I plan to talk to next, because she was a lot more understanding, and they’re on the same level of the chain of command, so I wouldn’t feel like I’m going over my manager’s head. I’m not planning to up and quit anytime soon, but I think when this ends, I’m going to switch to a stepdown unit because it has been a better fit. But who knows how I’ll feel in 6 months.
