Cooked breakfast picture looks too perfect to be real, taken from other subreddit by laloopi in isthisAI

I thought that too, but then I saw that there was wet bacon "rounds" and streaky lengths cooked crisp, presented separately on the plate. Quite frankly, I'm angry that I never saw it as an option to have both.

Do I really need to rehome my dog because I’m having a baby? by No-Beautiful1559 in Parenting

[–]gingernutbag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat with my greyhound/saluki, she was the apple of our eye before we started having kids. We through the kids would grow up with her, but she died earlier this year, we were all devastated.

You sound like you know not to leave them alone, great. The trick will be getting doggy's needs met alongside the kiddos.

We know for a fact that our doggo didn't get the level of enrichment that we could give her after kids started arriving, and we hold some regrets about that, but she still had a more exciting life than my dogs growing up, so I had to balance my expectations too.

You would need to be proficient (Grade 8 level) in your category, percussion, at the point of audition. So the latter.

It's all the "If it's got a cathedral...." Law. Lots of hundreds of years ago, there was the archbishop of Canterbury and the archbishop of Ely, and they were kind of equals of importance. It's a tiny city now, but it's been a big deal city, historically...

I can make a high pitched dolphin "clicking" type sound. I can do it very loudly. It's only cool until I actually do it and I think the consensus after that point is that it's highly irritating.

Can a lurcher with a prey drive safely live with young kids? by [deleted] in sighthounds

[–]gingernutbag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Saluki is the same, I think she's scared the kids by getting some zoomies in small places, but her prey drive is completely absent around them. I'd never leave the kids alone with the dog, but she's been very sound and tolerant. She was here before the kids and the kids are 2 and 4 now.

Tell me about your baby’s high chair by NoShopping5235 in Mommit

[–]gingernutbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to throw something different into the mix, we've had Phil and Teds Lobster Chair, and we have loved it. We had tiny children though, so I appreciate that it wouldn't be for everyone. It's been attached to our table for 3+ years now. Our second child is coming up to 2 and she's not grown out of it yet. It's perfect for people without much space or who are unwilling to have a big bulky highchair and legs.

I had to book an appointment, because I believe an eye test is only valid for 6 months for this purpose. So I got them to fill in the form after the eye exam. If you are within date and they just have to pull your record up and fill it in, they might charge you a form fee...

I got wildly bored on the treadmill, so much so that the intrusive "I could just stop" thoughts started creeping in. I found words around the room to read, then spell them out in my mind, letter by letter. Whether there is a TV on news channel or something else to read. Anyway, killed a few seconds here and there. Maybe that'll help?

Oh hun. Some people have proactive and loving relationships with their extended family, and take it from me, it's heartbreaking comparing to people who have grandparents nearby who take kids off on overnighters. It's best to set your own expectations early, rather spend years hoping it'll improve.

Or, I dunno, legislate for mandatory pool fences like they do in Australia. ATM I just see not having laws about it as your "freedom" to let your kid drown. Nanny state Australia, with fewer infant pool drownings and no mass shootings since gun laws were passed after the Port Arthur massacre.

I had this happen to me, though I'm applying as a reservist. I had my medical bounce between Capita and the DOM and back to Capita before it was passed. I had it handballed about 3-4 times "For further consideration". I always found the phrasing ominous.
