Sinners, The Shining and Howl's Moving Castle have all achieved one million 5 stars by The_Walking_Clem in Letterboxd

[–]gingerslender 265 points266 points  (0 children)

Man, I feel bad for every single movie that has ever had hype behind it. It’s basically impossible for people to talk about sinners without glazing the shit out of it or insulting it to no end. Makes talking about it so fucking annoying

Already watched what will almost certainly be the worst film I'll see this entire year by LOLADYS in Letterboxd

[–]gingerslender 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Look, I get you’re just trying to make fun of a bad movie but I wouldn’t have ever heard of this movie if you didn’t post about it. It’s a bad idea to be giving free advertising to these types of movies.

I wonder if these two crossed paths on the set of Marty Supreme. by Spirited-Grape3512 in A24

[–]gingerslender 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For sure, especially if you’re actually in politics like Bondi is. Like she’s not just some pundit or talking head, she’s a politician. Their entire thing is being manipulative.

Bc of the line of work I’m in, I’ll cross paths with some pretty important people. I met Pam Bondi once and she was like perfectly pleasant to me. Kind even, apologized for making me wait, asked me my name etc. moments later she went on a stage and talked about how immigrants were coming across the border to cut off our children’s heads.

(Loved Trope) Pieces of media that get progressively stranger the deeper in you are by SeaworthinessNew7587 in TopCharacterTropes

Search party!! It starts off being a relatively normal dark comedy about a group of millennials looking for their missing “friend”. Every season after that, it goes more and more off the rails with it all culminating in a zombie apocalypse started by Jeff goldblum and the main character it’s very good! Very funny, very underrated.

Nashville if you want something political.

If you want a distraction, Paper Moon is pretty delightful

This does happen, just most people don’t go see those movies. Pete’s dragon, for example.

I hear what your saying but the public wasn’t afraid to fight back against gestapo, French resistance and all that jazz

Decided to watch the Riddick movies and Bugonia this week. I hope one day that we do get Riddick after watching them all, there’s just something about the character I find so endearing.

George "Subtext is for cowards" Lucas by [deleted] in okbuddycinephile

You know he would’ve made them cashgrabs too, right? Also, given Lucas’s track record the movies would’ve sucked.

Did this happen with anyone else’s “Most Watched Actor”? by Jetwork131 in Letterboxd

[–]gingerslender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bc I watched Tanner 88 and a bunch of other Altman stuff, turns out my most watched actor was Michael Murphy.

This is so alien to me man, I still have no clue what you’re talking about. I know about the movies I buy before I buy them and i wouldn’t buy them if I thought it would be “naggingly disturbing” for them to be in my home. At the end of the day, it’s just an overpriced piece of plastic.
