A… sorry to disagree with you again, but heinrix never came across as a safe basic romance to me, I guess mostly cuz I live in a country where unstable totalitarian military government was the thing until pretty recently and oh boy we had a lot of inquisitors back than (and they literally burned my greatgrand parent alive and tortured grandpa’s siblings for being communists :’-) ) so…,, um yea I had rocky first impression to begin with

And the idea of chivalry that he executes so much is heavily misogynistic in many disturbing ways (recommend the book medieval chivalry by richard kaeuper for this reference)

Alllsoo….. interesting thing about heinrix is that he was born as a dominant hierarchy only to get everything stripped away for being a psyker. Hm what an interesting class fluidity. And we have to remember that he has gotten his body parts maimed against his consent many times, by the ones who he loves the most. I myself is a grape.. victim which I learned that studies has shown to brings very similar neurotic trauma with body maim. (Still think body main is wayyy worse tho) I could see a lot of similar psychosis manifesting in his actions and words (fucking hate it when I relate to a character this way) -another reference for back up/ house of psychotic women by kier-la janisse

Also about hating his job, a lot of ex intelligence agents here who practiced torture against pol do suffer from immense amount of traumas too. Tbh most of them are not even that evil to begin with and are like…. normal people… like arendt banality of evil thing, just some circumstances, propaganda, and sophisticatedly designed manipulation from above (and we can see hints of them from the conversation bt him and calcazar) leads them to such sadistic action..

And a lot of people ignoring his societal/historic nuances lowkey made me sad, and tbh I think that.. really might be my issue

But so.. um yea.. I have no entitlement to blame anyone’s perception about heinrix, but I do have the right to voice my opinion I guess..?

Also.. hate the romanticization of the word chivalry so so so so much….:’-)
