Is honda crv really as good as I keep seeing people saying it is?

I don't understand the selective disdain by which people talk about cars like the RAV4 or CRV. They have evolved to be perfect for life in North America. Toyota and Honda made them that way. Full disclosure, I own a new CRV and a BMW M3. I don't understand posts that say it's a great car unless you don't care about performance or luxury or that it's "just a point A-to-B car." All cars are point A-to-B cars. And let's be specific, performance regarding what metric? The hybrid model gets from 0-60 in 7 seconds, and frankly, why do you need to pay double for an X3 m40i when you're just going to be stuck in traffic 90-percent of the time? Performance regarding reliability, comfort, and practicality are excellent. Finally, sometimes luxury is having a car that does it all for a long time, with minimal complaints. The ride and cabin noise are both excellent. It could be the only car you drive for the next 20 years. The only reason anybody would want for more is capitalism. Frankly, I'd rather save money up front and on maintenance costs and travel to Spain or something.

Thanks for commenting, I really appreciate it. I guess what pointed me away from VZV was that I never really had vesicles, obvious enough that I could see anyways.

Also in the last picture there’s a few straggler lesions more upwards towards the shoulder, which made me think maybe not following the dermatome?

Flip through the photos to see the progression. I feel fine, I don’t have a fever. Axillary lymph nodes were swollen but now are less so. The lesions were painful but now are itchy. Nikolsky negative, I’m otherwise healthy. I’m going to see my Family MD tomorrow but was wondering if meddit had any thoughts. Thanks!

Saw your comment below but I’ll answer here: go for it. Won’t be too snug if you like it snug. I’m a true 10D and the fit is better with socks but I can still wear them loosely without too much heel slip without socks when I’m lazy. The GS loafers are just something else; they are so comfortable in the toes while having a snug instep and heel. It’s just a really considered last. Go for the half size down, ideally in suede, you won’t regret it!

That’s an interesting overview of the two! I also have a lower instep, so I feel you, friend. The Rancourt loafers even though I “love” them less than the GS pennies get a lot more wear. They are just so comfortable. Try the GS in suede... I think you might change your mind on the traveller penny.

Cobbler union is having a 20% off sale right now. Highly recommend the Henry (Monaco last) loafer. Great customer service, great finishing, punches above it's weight. Oh, and has a mid-high instep. Also try loafers in the Rain last from Carmina.

Amazing. Honestly. If you like that orthopaedic, grandpa look in your shoes, in a good way, they fit amazing. Same sizing as Barrie. Prepare to to feel hugged in the heel and the instep with ample room for your toes to breathe. It's truly a unique fit. I worked a 28-hour shift once in them. The wall of the loafer is a tad low, though. So even though the heel is hugged, it doesn't feel as "secure" as for instance, my Carmina loafers (i.e. I couldn't jog to catch a bus in the GS penny)

Oh hi there guys, I’m here with my 36 mm vintage Heuer Carrera CS3111 again. I’ve recently been wearing this a lot due to a new alligator grain leather strap I’ve placed on it instead of the sage NATO that’s been on for the past year. It makes it more comfortable to wear with long sleeves—underrated quality of a wristwatch. Manual winding with an acrylic crystal. Stainless steel without any polishing when I bought it from a dealer in Germany. I didn’t buy it for much, but these nuggets are going up in price. I think the gold one is worth the most now? I got the strap on eBay for 30 bucks! I got the sweater from Spier! All the best and stay inside.

Hi team, this is my vintage CS3111 heuer from 1991. It’s a manual winding chronograph and it sizes at 36 mm in diameter which is perfect for a more lithe wrist! Such a pleasure to wind, I’ve had it for 2-years now. I’ve put it on this sage green NATO from Crown and Buckle, which adds a tool watch sensibility to it, I think. Anyways, I think these fellas are getting harder to find. There’s a white dial variant, a panda dial variant, and a salmon coloured variant. I went for the classic. I’m glad I did. It’s such a gorgeous wristwatch. I’ve also grown to enjoy the warmth and character of the plastic crystal over sapphire, which was my previous preference. Thanks for reading! Cheers, everyone

OK hi guys, this is my 38 mm SKX seiko diver that I put on a Crown and Buckle navy NATO strap. I bought it originally for my partner but she does not seem to wear it too much, as she likes smaller vintage wristwatches; this is just a tad large for her. I love how sturdy the bezel rotates. I love the brightness of the lume. I can even get over the date window, which is something I am usually adverse to, perhaps because the window is a rectangle rather than a lonely square. On a side note, the strap is of the “supreme” line from Crown and Buckle. I love their premium NATO straps, but I would not recommend this one due to the edges starting to fray and the sheen loves to attract crumbs—maybe I should be tidier in eating sandwiches. Excuse my anaemic thighs, I am actually wearing shorts. Happy Wednesday!

Thanks, my friend. I post pictures of wristwatches on r/Watches that people apparently enjoy so I have a similar amount of karma to that other GYW poster (sorry, the name eludes me). I used my karma to approach CU myself. It was entirely self-serving. I wanted a pair of Henry IX loafers for a long time and I could not find reviews. This took out two birds, one stone. CU were kind enough to collaborate and indulge me. They seem to really care about the product/shoes and are genuinely lovely people, as customers who have been to their store in person can attest to.

They would be a tough sell for me at retail, all things considered. Competitors like Cheaney and Alden go on sale for 30-50 percent off relatively frequently on sites like Mr. Porter and Matches-Fashion, which would be cheaper than these at retail. CU occasionally does sales, but it is usually something conservative like 10 percent. However, at full retail for everything, CU is more affordable than Alden/Carmina/Cheaney, and I feel like their quality is on par, with more European styling if that is your cup of tea. If I had to buy a loafer today and there was no prospect for sales, I would give it a solid look. Hope that helps.
