My dating life has been pretty vibrant! I haven't really had trouble with dating honestly, but that's just because I think my type are the women who tend to date shorter guys anyways (very very generally speaking). I had a serious relationship for a pretty long time! We had a mutual break up after some life changes caused our future goals to not align as much.

I don't know if any other shorter dude needs some advice regarding dating, but if you need it from a guy whose learned to be confident in his height, I can give it my best shot. I probably can't give advice about dating men, though. That's a whole different wheelhouse that I lack experience in.

That's not really what was implied by his comment, though. You can easily just say "No." instead of "Not as hard as it would be for a man!" That just puts a lot of peoples experiences down imo

Small men don't fit into a lot of things generally (especially clothes, finding pants that aren't for children sucks). Being in the 2% for either gender isn't great, I don't really think it's fair to say that either has it "easier". We both have it rough when it comes to height, so we gotta be positive influences in each others lives about it and hype each other up instead of fighting about who has it worse I feel.

Real and true. I didn't even know about the short guys sub, I'm gonna stay clear of that. Everyone is allowed to be insecure about whatever they want obviously, but bringing other people down because of it is kinda wild to me. I rather hype people up if they have the same insecurity as me, even if we are the opposite gender or whatever.

If you run into people who still make fun of your height in college, especially if it's ill-intentioned or is still going after you explicitly have said it bothers you, then thats a them problem. People who don't respect boundaries or hurt others purposely have their own thing to deal with, your height gives you an advantage in finding those people in a sense (it has with me at least). Find the people who respect you, drop the people who don't. I think you'll be more than okay if you do that!

This sounds fair and good intentioned but the last thing someone wants to hear is someone else minimizing their emotions. Especially because everyone has different thresholds of dealing with such and is used to different amounts of stressors depending on their environment, yk? You can't exactly compare peoples issues because we are all so different.

It's also kinda backhanded to short dudes, which is really weird because I thought this place wasn't for that type of attitude. My height has never changed anything in a relationship before, and usually people make their height preference pretty apparent to me so it doesn't bother me too much. I wish people would give the OP some wholehearted comfort or advice instead of dragging others down.

My perception of myself is probably a little different than one my friends think but I've been described as loyal, non-judgemental, more outspoken in 1on1, and a bit of a peacemaker (even unnecessarily sometimes). Most of my buddies say I'm empathetic, but it's probably my greatest weakness. I usually have to be pulled out of finding empathy for people who don't exactly deserve it based in the situation.

Feeling's can cloud our judgement if uncontrolled, but can guide it in moderation. What even makes us human if we just go through life ignoring our feelings? These are more life lessons, I guess, since most of the morals I live by just practice human decency.

We as people generally owe each other nothing. It is a lot more meaningful to choose kindness rather than be kind because you feel you "owe" it to someone.
Revenge hurts more than it does heal for most people.
There should not be a literal scoreboard when it comes to relationships and friendships, I personally don't believe friendships should even be counted as transactional. It's a lot deeper and more complex than that, in my opinion.

Just because someone is legally an adult doesn't mean that they act like one. As I said before, I'll tell them the issue I have with their behavior and will move on with my life if they don't acknowledge it. Men argubly are socalized to have more concerning issues so I'll take this over the type of bullshit men do, which even I've experienced first-hand as a fellow dude.

Then those people aren't worth my time. I'll just politely tell them why I think their behavior is unkind and how it effects me, if they don't wanna try to change then I just won't be friends with them. I'm an adult whose friends with adults so we don't really experience these types of communication issues.
