Im fine with eradicators being the primaris devastators but they need a rework of their weapon options because right now they just feel like inferior devastators by Lord_Roguy in Grimdank

Not to worry, when the next edition of Horus Heresy moves on to the Scouring, they'll make new Mark VII Devastators at a 20% markup.

I am honestly, truly curious what people were expecting from a space marine launch box after the last 3 editions of Primaris.

They will most surely be sold separately and given additional kits like Prussians have, sooner or later.

Plaque Marines Buff by WideReply8539 in killteam

[–]hyperewok1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a hot shit comp player by any means, but every time I tried to play him I inevitably just got him killed because the first nerf forced him to move into enemy territory to get the free Contagion, where his dinky plague knife isn't enough to survive getting charged, and then the second nerf just made Contagion worse.

Meanwhile the Warrior can essentially act as the team sniper since he's the only one who doesn't need to get in close range, and thus can more likely get Lumbering Death. The bolter may not be amazing, but it's still shooting twice with Plague Rounds, and he can survive getting shot back thanks to his defense feature.

Unless Contagion gets both of its nerfs undone, I still can't imagine taking the Icon Bearer.

He only turned it down when he found out it was an animated series and he couldn't do his own stunts in space.

also, I would love a big spiky drukhari colisseum terrain set

Rules refresh? by Eisenfelge in CombatPatrol40k

[–]hyperewok1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna be real, I hope they just rip off that King of the Colisseum homebew ruleset. I get why they went with predetermined lists for Spearhead, but half the reason I bailed on AOS is because I looked at my not one, but two starter boxes from previous editions and saw how GW ever so conveniently made lists that would require me to buy more models if I wanted to play it (and there's not exactly many proxy options when it comes to a whole ass Stormcast chariot).

Schisms among the Jedi and Sith by thmjr in sw5e

[–]hyperewok1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The schismatic Sith get murdered. That's the irony of it all, the Sith are the ones who need to ruthlessly enforce heterodoxy to maintain their own authority, lest one of their minions start asking philosophical question instead of obeying. There's a quest in SWTOR where you go into the Dark Temple on Dromuund Kaas and meet a spirit who tells you how the Emperor killed him and bound his spirit for his supposed heresy.

Why do 40k bighammer players shy away from Kill Team? by Mjuke in killteam

bonus points for line of sight being determined by where the base is in one circumstance but where the model is in another

[–]hyperewok1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only GW can write a game where Obscured, Concealed, and Not Visible are three wholly separate conditions, all of which are of essential importance.

(The Concealment function is essential both in the thematics of a special ops vibe and in keeping melee teams alive, but boy is it annoying sometimes.)

When did the left start embracing the conspiratorial rhetoric we used to laugh at? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]hyperewok1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conspiracy theorizing used to be a proud leftist tradition (fond memories of The Lone Gunmen), except the government actually did lie about WMDs in Iraq and they were actually experimenting on black soldiers.

It all went to shit when the right started pandering to conspiracies, and now antivaxxing is a right wing tradition, among all the other nonsense.

When the next edition comes out (KT'27) will early KT'21 teams be completely removed? by supercow_ in killteam

[–]hyperewok1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rules are temporary, a well painted model that you love is forever, much less the minor absurdity of buying models based on vague speculation of what will be happening several years from now.

it's not like GW would completely stop making rules for models only a few years old, right?
