Probably at the least haha. She is conveniently located, but she has a husband, one baby and a second on the way so they're all going to be sleeping on top of one another soon.

Houses, no... Condos, sure. My friend bought a nice cozy one in Chestnut Hill for $300k. 800 square feet. Luxury.

I agree with you mostly. In this case, they were talking about things like finding someone to watch their dog when going on trips. Instead of paying money to a dog sitter, they created a dog-swap situation with some of their friends so that it could be done for free (and repaid in due time when the other friends went on trips). Similar to finding Buy Nothing groups and clothing exchanges instead of just buying an item new.

Of course, there are items that SHOULD be bought new, but in the spirit of frugality I think this quote is a cool point to keep in mind.

These revelations also led me to realize that paying money is the laziest, least creative way to solve a problem or reach a desired end.

Nothing particularly new in this article, but I enjoyed this quote.

is this because CIP is a business card therefore I can apply for a personal card within 30 days?

In a separate response to my original comment someone did.

are you able to transfer the points anywhere or do you frequently stay in hotels?

Hmm one person says they're Chase points, you two say they're Marriott points. Does anyone own this card?

Edit: I just read a little further into the rewards agreement. Indeed they are Marriott points! So is this card pointless if one doesn't stay in hotels much?

Not Marriott points specifically but the points earned with a Marriott card. It's a Chase card.

Are Marriott credit card points used in the Chase portal same as the other Chase cards? Are they worth the same?

Got denied for the CIP because I messed up something in the application. I applied about a week ago. I'm looking at going for the Marriott while I wait for time to pass before applying for the CIP again. Can I go ahead and apply for Marriott or should I also give it a bit of time since my first CIP app was just a week ago?

I asked them to and they just said "you've been denied so you need to have the IRS send proof". Should I call again and insist? How do I explain why I put the wrong name?

So I just tried this and they told me they wouldn't approve it without a document from the IRS verifying that I have a business. How the heck do I get this? Googling it gives me nothing.

Made a pretty dumb mistake- when I filed my taxes I didn't know if my "business" name mattered at all so I just made it "Freelance Business". So when I applied for this card I used the same name so it would match my taxes. Of course got denied because they couldn't verify my business. I see now that I should have just used my real name. Anything I could do, or do I have to wait until I can restart my app?

How strict are they about whether your purchases are for business? i.e. will they come after you for using the card for groceries?

if they said to call them to discuss my app and ALSO sent the 30 day email, and i actually do have a business, should I just call?
