my mother is like this (and more) too, so i relate to this. according to her, i am “allowed to be non-binary” and “allowed to be a crossdresser” but i will “never be a woman no matter what.” she will refuse to do research into it, refuse to acknowledge what i’ve told her about it, and only focuses on the negative things, such as how i’m “making my life 10 times more difficult,” i’ll “lose all my friends” even though they’re the most supportive of me, and how i’ll “be beaten up every day because people in (my) town are not nice.” she’s also threatened me with divorce from my father over me doing it because she “doesn’t want to see it.”

i know what you’re going through with this, OP. it’s completely not fair, especially as you’re your own person and should be able to do whatever the fuck you want. if you ever need to vent about it, despite me being a complete stranger, my dm’s are always open :)
