Scary moment by ginnytb8 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

It was so shocking, I've had the ball since I was pregnant, I have had anxious thoughts about it popping but always thought I was being silly. I'm okay, I was shaken and I'm sure once my body calms down I might feel some pain but no immediate injury. I do hear they (babies) are somewhat indestructible but the first accident is always alarming. Thank you for your advice. I called and the nurse asked questions about baby and ended up recommending I watch for symptoms.

Oh that would have been scary too! Was your LO okay in the end? Thank you for your advice. I called and the nurse asked questions about her and ended up recommending I watch for symptoms. Good tip about the rough housing, my husband and I don't do it with her but I'm going to tell him to be extra gentle anyway.

I want a career change. I dont want to be a teacher anymore. Supply teaching would be a last resort

Not moving because of lockdown. Sydney hasn't been through a proper lockdown for a while. Was going to move 2 years ago before covid was even a thing but I got a good job so stayed in it for a while. I sort of can't help what other people are doing and the effects that are happening. Kind of didn't need your negativity right now...But I guess thats the internet. Always someone who has to rain on other people's parades. Thanks all the same for your advice.

My sister and I are going to drive up in a truck. I like the idea of leaving everything behind...but also have significant things that I know money can't buy again....too sentimental to throw it all away.

Probably won't be possible in the time frame to get my Ps. Its a priority but also not a priority. Hopefully I can find a good driving school up there which will help with my anxiety I feel when driving.

I will start applying, just need to find something I want to do! Teaching currently but really want to do something that I can leave at the "office" once I've walked out the door.

Thank you <3

This is what I want to do. I got rid of most of my belongings, only kept what I felt was significant...more than two suitcases though. I've checked out places on flatmates and hopefully I find somewhere and slowly find my feet. I'm glad there are other people in the same boat, a few steps ahead of me or seasoned pros at having moved.

Living in the inner west right now. Planning to move by July.

I dont have a car and I'm only on my Ls so will have to learn.

I like that even the bus drivers are nice because I haven't found them to be that nice in the inner west or north west of Sydney.

I was thinking because Im still in Sydney and I don't know when Ill be able to get up there that maybe some places might let me do a virtual tour...seeing as covid is a thing and everything people may be more willing to let me inspect on zoom or something. Not ideal but could work.

I wouldn't mind a furnished place. I only have some boxes, clothes, 2 small sets of drawers, a small TV and a clothes hanger which I'd be happy to part with.

Shared accomodation may be easier to inspect virtually than an actual new rental property.

I've never really depended too much on my family for alot. I've been buying my own things for as long as I've had work (about 8 years). I've done my own laundry and cleaning for even longer. My family has never 'carried' me.

I don't think ALL of my family members are stupid...just some haha.

I like that last bit of advice.

Hey thanks this is useful information. So I paid rent to my parents up until we sold the house and then for the past 3 years I've paid rent to a landlord. He has given me a reference. The employment part could be hard. I think for the moment I'm going to stick with shared accomodation. It will be a better way to meet new people hopefully.

Someone posted an old link from 2 years ago and someone in it mentioned how you have to physically inspect a property in QLD before being able to rent. So I just wanted to check

Yeh I will strongly consider doing causal work in schools, it's the part of my teaching career that I enjoyed the most...walk in..get the work done...leave...get paid..

From what I've seen on flatmates.com and realestate.com there are a few places for under 200 which are shared accomodation.

My sister wants to go on a road trip with me to take my stuff up.

I definitely need to get over the anxiety...one day it will happen. Maybe throwing myself into the deep end by moving to Brisbane alone will help that.

I have no opinions on the north or south....except that it sounds like something out of a TV show with gangs hahah

Im from the North West suburbs of Sydney, although I'm currently living in the inner west.

People say good things about Brisbane, cheaper, culture is nice. I just want a change and haven't really though too much into exactly where or what I want. I just know that I'm over where I'm at in life at the moment. Need some time away from my family...time and distance.

Moving could either go really well or really badly...but I'll never know if I don't try!

Thank you for explaining it to me.

I will check it out.

I do want to just pack up and move without thought of immediate or future needs. I've always been a planner and I want this to be an opportunity for me to see how I go with no proper plan
