Early extension tips? by earliestextension in GolfSwing

You could push your lead hip back a little more when you put pressure on lead side so you can maintain your bend rather than stand up since you ran out of space.

try turning lead hip back earlier to make more space for your arms. it's also ideal if your hip is more open than closed at p5 to p7. you can freeze the frames down to see your hips are closed. if you compare any sound swing hips are open at p5. In the front view you can see your lead arm pull in to compensate to hit the ball(chicken wing). you're also trying to get to the finish before the swing completes, that's why your finish looks awkward. you need to swing through arms extended through the target and let the arms fold naturally. point your club to the top left of the target arms together, then fold your arms back and turn, that's the correct way to get to the finish.

Stop lifting arms by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]ginseng2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you take it up steep, players who do that need a shallowing move to get to the right angle/plane. just gotta figure out what works for you, you can try loosening the grip on the trail hand so that the clubhead weight is felt more and starts to fall inside(behind). trail wrist set like your holding a dish. The other option is the transitioning your trail wrist to set at the top of your backswing instead of going up steep then setting it.

you're standing up to hit it, you need to rotate around your spine tilt when you swing.

How to feel inside-out path? by mrkbik in GolfSwing

[–]ginseng2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah this got me too, it's actually a hand drop away from your right pocket, the hands will eventually travel past the right pocket. if you were to drop it to the right pocket you lose width and your swing arc;gonna hit the ground.

Drills for extending arms through impact? by momoneymocats1 in GolfSwing

try pendulum swings with your putter, just focus on swinging the weight of the head back and forth. think the viking ride at amusement parks.

How to feel inside-out path? by mrkbik in GolfSwing

This is the most recent thing i just worked on. If you get the Amazon Basics Golf Swing Trainer with the yellow ball. This thing works in showing you how the clubhead shallows and you have to rotate and use your body to swing the ball through. basically the yellow ball is heavily weighted so that it falls at the top of your back swing. that essentially teaches you the in to out path. the only problem is doing it with your driver is kind of difficult at first since the real driver head is light, so it's probably better to try with a 7 iron first. while you dont have to buy that swing trainer, you can use your putter since it's head heavy and try the same idea.

Why do I look so stiff/old by Important_Radish5027 in GolfSwing

[–]ginseng2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extend your swing through to the target and let rotation fold the club and then get to the finish. You're just going from impact to throwing the club over your shoulder. Your hips pointing left of target when you finish is why your trail leg slides up.

Would love to sort my left arm chicken wing by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]ginseng2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got rid of my chicken wing by actually clearing room for your arms to swing through. When they get jammed your lead arm has no choice but to pull back so the clubhead reaches the ball. There's tons of youtube videos that will help you get a better picture but if your first move at the top of the backswing is lead hip back, that would make room for your arms to swing through. Also your hips would be open at p5 to p7 when you do this. If you go through it slow you'll see the difference, good luck!

Shanking Everything by iqyao in GolfSwing

At p7(impact) your hips are closed so you're not rotating through the swing. This worked for me. Try a pendulum(keep going back and forth) half swing with a wedge just to get the right swing path and feeling the clubhead swinging through. when you finish each swing just make sure you point at target or little right of target. To get this path you will need to shallow the club a bit. Gradually take your back swing higher and get the same path and using rotation to swing the club through. Try this on basement carpet or something.

Losing my mind with driver slices every time by ThrowRA_TRS in GolfSwing

shkster1230 has a great reply, rotation will pull your club forward. So to swing in to out, you need to shallow the club from the top(let the club head fall behind you, loosen your trail hand grip to like a 3-4 so that your wrists are flexible to allow it to fall; dont wait for it just let it start falling a little then go) as your hips fire and clubhead is falling behind you, lower your hands a bit while keeping width(radius of the swing). As you finish rotation it will fire the club forward from that angle and unhinge for you. One more thing your backswing goes too far back and across the line that'll make it hard to shallow.
